Huge break for the Padres Kershaw reportedly has the flu and is out after 3 innings.
Volquez has bad 4th inning. A single and 4 walks for 2 runs. Volquez got lucky when Ethier was called out at the plate trying to score on a ball the didn't get far enough away from Hundley.

Ethier being called out, in my opinion, cancelled out the couple strike 3's that were called balls. Could've been a worse inning, but hopefully the Padres could take advantage now with Kershaw out

How was it lucky? He was clearly out. Good play by Volquez and a nice tag. Padres should have had a run on a walk to Headley with the bases loaded. Pitch was inside and off the plate.

Maybin just f**king crushed the ball for a 2 run homer. Dodgers up 5-3

He was most definitely out. Wasn't even that close, IMO. Maybe I'll have to watch it again.

Hey OP how is that prediction working out for you? Padres will be lucky to win a game.

Padres are god fluffin awful. 5 errors, no bats. Gonna get swept here, lose 3 up in LA next week, 60 wins is going to be a struggle, but maybe when theyre 20 games out they'll win a couple in a row to crawl up to 65 wins.

So much for the, "New and Improved," Padres. OK, two games in is WAY too early to panic or rush to judgment, but adding these games to the realistic expectations of the performance on the field of the players on their roster does send up a red flag. Or maybe it's a white flag? Waved by ownership to the rest of the league. Wait, do we have ownership with the Padres?

It is one series.
