Sounds like the NCAA will deny The MWC application for AQ status.

Good to know that SDSU football is heading out. Not that AQ status will matter much in a couple of seasons, but nonetheless happy to be headed to greener pastures for the remaining.

This is all BS. Plus, we're going to get a great TV deal, just you wait and see.

In other news, water is wet and fire is hot... Wait, does this mean the MUSA isn't going to get a great TV deal? You're really telling me that fire is hot? WTF is going on today. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Nobody can be a fan of that TV deal with the exception of CBS Sports and Comcast. It has allowed them to fill broadcasting time with reasonably quality programming for a song. For the MWC, that contract, and not Utah's leaving for the Pac and TCU for the B12, is pretty much what has killed the conference.

When MountUs pulls their $#!+, I wouldn't be surprised if they run the other way.

When MountUs pulls their $#!+, I wouldn't be surprised if they run the other way. MWC schools have been sufficiently geographically proximate that the partners haven't had to send crews to hell and gone. (Only about halfway there sometimes.) Under the MountUs, whomever the conference contracts with is going to have its crews from coast to coast. Seems to me that either going to mean huge travel expenses or hiring subcontractors, would could get expensive. And the MWC had only Laramie as a truly podunk location several hours from a major airport. CUSA has several such locations. Since it appears this will be a full-blown merger, MWC schools are indirectly going to subsidize TV crews traveling to Hattiesberg and wherever the hell somebody stuck Marshall Faulk and the other bumphuck schools in that conference.

I read the Bruin report for Scott Queensberry, who is also being recruited by SDSU, and like the new perspective recruits have the pending move;
"Then you have the Pac 12," Quessenberry said. "How can you leave the west coast and then San Diego State, how can you leave San Diego now that they are moving into a BCS automatic qualifier."

The AQ tag may go away in a few years but the cache that comes along with being in an AQ conference will last longer than that.

I love how other MWC schools are hating on us because of this move. So we sold out for millions? We're part of the Haves! Woo hoo! I feel like economically repressing somebody right now.
