You are reading way too much into this. Actually, I don't think I am. The city of San Diego and Padre fans have been putting up with Moores BS for a while. Now, the Moorad Group is starting to smell a little fishy. It's getting really old. I have been a Padre Fan since the early 70's. What Bud Black did a couple of years ago was amazing considering he had to deal with Moores as the owner. However, If Mark Cuban buys the Dodgers, I will become a fan of the team I despised growing up. I'm sick of the Padres front office.

You are reading way too much into this. I dont think you are reading into this enough. This is a 3 ring circus and Bud Selig is the ringmaster. Why would they allow Moorad to "buy" the team if they knew they were not going to approve him, Bud?

You are reading way too much into this. I dint think you are reading into this enough. This is a 3 ring circus and Bud Selig is the ringmaster. Why would they allow Moo rad to "buy" the team if they knew they were not going to approve him, Bud? Good point. However, you have to think somehow John Moores knew Moorad might have some problems getting ownership and use it to his benefit. I have no problem with a businessman making money. But, with a sports team, at some point you have to show some accountability to the city you are representing. I believe Moores has made a lot of money owning the Padres. However, he claims anything and everything that he isn't so he doesn't have to put any money into the team. The Padre organization continually has one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. Furthermore, a recent article had Moores making big profits- which he of course disputes. The divorce that took years was another excuse why he couldn't put any money into the team. Funny, he didn't have any problem collecting any of the profits during the lenghtly dispute. It's my opinion John Moores and his ex used that divorce for profit and are laughing all the way to the bank. Now, San Diego has to deal with the Moorad Group and the possibility the team goes back to Moores As far as I am concerned, I hope MLB does the same thing to the Padres as they did with the Dodgers.

Mark this down. The transfer has been withdrawn long enough to sign the TV deal. It is right back on the table after that. The TV deal would never be approved by MLB if a transfer of ownership was pending. It had to be withdrawn. The ownership transfer was delayed for reasons that had nothing to do with anything that is a legitimate reason to stop it. They either just want to make sure or are screwing with Morad who isn't universally liked.
