MaxPreps rates Etiwanda 9th in the state. They rate Vista 127th. Also, the Panthers had to travel about 80 miles north to take on the 29-2 Eagles.
Despite all that, Vista came close to grabbing an upset, eventually losing to Etiwnda (score: 57-50). At one point in the second half the Panthers lead by 10, but they could not keep their lead.
Vista ends the season at 25-9. That's a pretty good record for a team without a truly big man and one that lacked its starting PG for 6 games as the league season got underway.
(I have to be honest here. While Etiwanda looked good, it's hard for me to imagine that there are only 8 stronger high school boys BB teams in the state. )

What was the deal with Fletcher's injury? I never heard exactly what it was.

What was the deal with Fletcher's injury? I never heard exactly what it was. As I understand it, he had a blood clot in his leg. It took a while to heal. AzWm
