Sorry Charger fans. He's a HOFer.

Sorry Charger fans. He's a HOFer. It was never about his ability, it's about his character. Like Elway, I have no use for people that operate under the assumption there are two sets of rules. And the fact that Jughead needed his daddy Archie to protect his interests makes him an even bigger joke in his own right. So, like Elway, no matter how many SB's his team wins, he'll still be a plug. But that said, maybe someday one of his teams will be able to beat the Chargers.

Can't be mad at him now. Turns out he made the right decision.

Can't be mad at him now. Turns out he made the right decision. True. But the way he played out the whole situation of not wanting to play for our bolts made him a punk. Playing in the nfl is a privledge, not a right. He made it seem like he was bigger than the bolts. I give him respect for being a good QB and winning 2 rings but will never respect him for being a baby about not wanting to play for the Chargers. He should have just been happy he got drafted and can continue to play a game out of college.

I'd still make that trade. Every single time.

But I got over it after he made that amazing play to win his 1st Super Bowl. Besides he's 0-2 against the Chargers so he can suck on that.

I'd still make that trade. Every single time. No doubt! Not to take nothing away from Eli but the Giants have a savage defense that played a key role in both Super Bowl wins.

I'd still make that trade. Every single time. Yep. The reason Eli has those 2 titles is because he has a better team around him than Phillip. Rivers is a top 5 QB in the league and Eli is somewhere between 11-13.

I bet AJ Smith is turning over in chargers-superbowl-window grave right now.
Anyhow, I still cannot understand how Eli has two rings. even with a great defense. It kind of seems like fates hand slapping AJ across the face for being the more arrogant of he and Archie.

They have been given time and have failed and are getting worse every year. If any of us failed in our jobs like they have we would be fired.

This, and every other post in here that blows away Andre's post. I'd be angry too if SD was my team. Spurned lover. Don't believe me, put his stats up against Rivers'. Start with Championships. Also, stack 'em up against other HOF QBs. Look at Aikman's as an example.

In the past six seasons, the Chargers have won MORE games. They've arguably been the better team. They just have been terribly coached. And Eli is not the 11th-13th QB in the NFL.

So it's not that we got worked in the deal, it's just that NY has better coaching, and a smarter GM.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that QB's that have SB rings are "more elite" than those without. Eli is a pretty good QB. I'd still take Philip. Manningham made a miraculous catch that pretty much won them the game. It helps to have a defense that puts pressure on the QB. QB's don't always win Super Bowls. Is Terry Bradshaw the best QB of all time?

Montana threw zero interceptions in 4 Super Bowls and had the last minute drive against the Bengals. Add in the playoffs to get to the SB, and the great QB's in history like Montana and Brady are least 1/2 the reason that teams get to multiple SB. I don't know why Bradshaw does not get more respect. He threw some great balls to Swan etc. Re: Chargers. This is just a franchise with bad ownership and management. No team has done less with the talent level they have assembled over the years.

That's why I highlighted the word TYPICALLY. A team has a better chance to win the Super Bowl with a serviceable QB who doesn't make the mistakes, coupled with a great defense, than a team with an All Star QB with no defense.

I appreciate this is yesterday's news, but though I was disappointed Peyton Manning didn't sign with the Arizona Cardinals, (or any NFC team for that matter), I was somewhat dismayed when I heard the reported reason was he didn't want to compete against his brother jughead. Only reinforces my opinion this little boy is one candy ass. It also shows that any plug can win a championship in the NFL if they're on the right team at the right time.
