UNLV students are tired of playing second fiddle, apparently, to the greatest student section in the country. They have named their students section - The UNLV Rebellion - and are trying to organize. From Twitter: twitter.com/UNLVRebellionPutting together a chant sheet for the game tomorrow! Send us any ideas you may have!! Love the cardboard cut outs ideas.. specifically of vegas stars. We'll see what we can do. but the biggest thing for us to do is organize the students, once we accomplish this than all of our big ideas can take place! and finally: @unlvrebellion everyone folloe the new group for the student section. They are organizing and it should be awesome.... Screw San Diego State ;D ;D ;D |

It's really quite amazing, and a respectful token to all the hard work The Show founders deserve, that every single media piece talks about The Show, and now every other school wants to out do The Show.
In case it isn't said often enough, WELL DONE SHOW MEMBERS!!!

there's over 2000 members on these boards, and we don't have 2000 followers. Which means some of you either don't have twitter (necessity) or you just don't follow us (blasphemy).
@the__show
the pittsburgh zoo has like 3 times as many followers as us. that isn't right. because we have a better basketball team, we are funnier and we are much better looking.
I have a goal to get to 12414 followers by the start of next season, but some fellow showmen think thats a bit ambitious. we shall see.

This is nothing but biting off The Show, how original those webels are Who cares if they are original or not. Good to see the Show forcing other schools students to get off their collective asses. Now the thing is can they get it done when they play a not so great team? That is where The Show shines. Game in and game out they are there having fun supporting the team. That is what makes The Show shine. |

I don't see why so many people get riled up when opposing students organize. If anything, it's a good thing... creates more material, incentive, motivation, etc. for the Show.
Plus, it's just entertaining in general. Let 'em take their best shot and see where they measure up. If Vegas does something great, that's awesome... just another opportunity to take it to the next level, then.

This is perfect. The more time these people take trying to organize and go after the show is less time that they have to actually come up with stuff that will get to our players.

I attended the Aztecs v. Lobos game in New Mexico at the infamous "The Pit!"
No question, The Pit structure is an architectural wonder and $60M renovation took away 3,000 seating capacity (seating capacity 18,000 before renovation) to add 40 luxury/money suites!
Current seating capacity is 15,000.
The Lobos alleged Student Section was "awful!" Now, I must admit that students had some cool signs like, The Show is Cancelled, So Long to Big West; Aztecs Ruins and etc...
Yes, it is loud in The PIt, but it is not as loud as Viejas Arena! One
of their fans who figured out that I was an Aztecs fan (wearing an Aztec jersey) asked, "Is it this loud in Viejas Arena?"
I said, "Yes!" I also, told him that The Show is comprised of approximately, 3500 individuals. The Lobo Hobos Student Section is made up approximately, 500 individuals and a student
pep band.
The elderly fan wanted to know if I was kidding him? I told him that I was not kidding and he should travel to San Diego, California and see The Show!
When I arrive in Las Vegas for the Aztecs v. Rebels game, I am going to have a sign that states, "The Greatest Show on Earth!"

As is said before, imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so it's great to see that student sections from UNM and UNLV are finally giving in to what The Show has done, sort of like a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em", mentality. I think they tried ignoring The Show for years but finally they realized that they aren't going anywhere and they are getting so much recognition, so they are following in The Show's tracks.

You could dress up The Show in plain white shirts and ties and they'll still bring it harder than any group in the country. It's not what you wear, it's how hard you go.

The show has been around a while, they are finally getting the nat'l pub because the baskeball team is good now. What year did the show start / form? And, are there founding fathers of the show? I would assume that someone laid the ground work
