Looks like 2-3 more spots if we can get the right guys? I'm taking a hunch that LB Nolan Biegel will be the next player to commit (although it will be tough to resist an Ivy League education at Penn). After him, who knows who'll commit, but I'm open to surprises

If we pick up another D-Tackle, I'd be surprised. But it seems that Rocky may have a couple others in mind we haven't heard much about?

A five star player, a four star player and tons of three star players and people are pouting? I thought that I was "Mr. Negative." Right now on Rivals we have seven 3-star guys. That =/= "tons." In fact, it's at about the bottom of 2013 Big East schools. To quote ASR, the 5-star guy "has baggage" and the 4-star guy has just one year of eligibility left and although it hasn't been said by anybody else, to me he appears reminiscent of the Pitts kid that Craft brought in who IIRC caught just 23 passes his one year at SDSU after transferring from USC. So to me, this is a good class and can become very good if we get another good commitment or two. However, excessive expectations of fans have been a problem in the past for SDSU football and I think we should all keep that in mind. I just don't think any of us know how good this class is and won't for a couple of years. TCU and Boise haven't pulled in recruiting class rankings that would lead anyone to believe that they are football powers. We have to hope that this staff can evaluate talent and bring in good players. It's that simple.

Just from our current roster we have: Demetrius Barksdale Dylan Denso Larry Gibbs Japheth Gordon Vaness Harris Frederick Trujillo Chad Young Every year we have walk-on's who contribute.

This is called "whistling by the gravyard." K5james propeses to be the expert here, but I think today we have something more than a problem at DL, call it a cavern like Mammoth Cave, call it a VOID like deep space on the DL. We got very little contribution from the RsF last year. NT is the biggest hole in the void. Yes, just maybe Galeai (nah-lee-ah-he) will emerge, but I don't see that yet. Meredith was soft last season. With spring ball, hope springs eternal. Perphas the great god of Azteca will intervene . I hope so, because even the 3-3-5 can't cover this problem today. I was hoping for JC savior, it did not happen. I hope all the experts on this board will be out there with me in just three weeks to see if we can figure something out. We are the youngest of young Aztec teams I can recall.

Meredith was a true freshman and got a ton of playing time. He's going to be a monster. We have two DTs in this class. How many more scholarships in this class do you want to devote to the position?

A monster?I really wished I believed that. Saw him live and close up spelling Jerome in LV. He has a long way to go. Now, if he is as dedicated as Jerome to getting stronger, then maybe. But Jerome was special with his quickness and athletecism. Don't see that in Meredith today. Hope he matures. Point is, the Aztecs to find new and even better NTs than Meredith as backup. Today, we are in a world of hurt, especially in the scheme we play where NT is crucial to allowing DEs to be singled up sometimes.

How soon you forget what Jerome looked like as a true freshman... 70-7 among other games weren't very pretty but guess what? He got better as he gained more experience just like all of the rest of our DL will. $#!+, at least wait to see what they look like in spring before you call the season...

Dline has been a weakness even with half a dozen seniors the last two years on the top line.

Merideth was injured with a bad shoulder that required surgery after the bowl game. Try taking on blocks and double teams with essentially one good arm. Malcolm Jackson is 6'3" 255 right now and is motivated to get to 280 by the summer and play against UW. If he is 280 at camp, which should be easy for him, he could definitely play NT if he has the skills.

I'm just pissed that we are in this situation after two good years! Wish I believed that a promising freshmen like Jackson can helpthis year, but I know better and so should everyone else here who pays attention.

How many of Rocky's NM classes were highly ranked? Physical abilities go only so far. Emotional state of mind and strength, determination and committment make the athlete. See coaching...

There is much potential here but strength, conditioning and coaching make the difference. We shall see in two years or three if this is a good class.
