It will be a great to get both Hillman and McFadden back plus Baxter, Katz and Butler, too.
I can dream, can't I?

People will immediately bag on Hillman if he goes. But, he is 3 years removed from High School, and he deserves to get paid if that is what he chooses.
People will say too small, needs one more year and so forth. If he can go first 100 picks, he is gone. IMHO.

I guess he's bigger than Warrick Dunn was and Dunn pulled down more than a few NFL paychecks.

If Ronnie goes good for him. Another Aztec in the NFL. He helped us get back on the map, and I am thankful for that.

I will wish Hillman and McFadden the best if they go. Good to hear that McFadden will likely return (he will not go in the first 2 rounds).

You can't blame a kid for wanting to get paid.

It's not like a third season repeating what he did in the first two will help his draft stock. Take the money as a fourth rounder now, it can only get worse. --Sent from my HTC Evo--

It's what Rocky said he recommended. But Hillman has never given an "if - then" scenario.

There's a need for Hillman Jr. to stay and he shouldn't go pro now. A third season will build his draft stock and his heistman candidacy will make him a number one pick in the draft next year for sure! There is a million reasons to wait a year an go first in the first round! It can only get better.

1. Ronnie will move on to better things. 2. Baxter: talent, grades & citizenship. 3. McFadden isn't going anywhere, he does need another year as his stock dropped. 4. Butler, would be nice. 5. A one year QB? No thanks. Bite the bullet, next year will be tough no matter what so use the year effectively. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Whoever pointed out that taking hits adds up for running backs has convinced me that although Ronnie still needs to work on pass protection, catching the ball in traffic and knowing when to just take what he can get rather than dancing, maybe he should leave in order to save his body for another year in the league. On your second point, I've become on the fence too. Rumors are starting to swirl that if the Big East could settle with WVU soon enough that Boise could leave the MWC a year earlier than the Aztecs. A 2012 MWC without TCU and Boise and in the first year of new regimes at CSU and Fresno State would be crap. Bad enough that we could challenge to win it with a seasoned QB like Katz. Of course, that would depend on the Big East and WVU settling things before we open spring camp.

Of course, that would depend on the Big East and WVU settling things before we open spring camp. So we end up winning a very much diluted MWC--and, by the way, I'm not so sure that's a slam dunk what with all of the holes we will be filling next year--we then enter the Big East without a QB. We will have to go through the entire experience of breaking in a QB the second year in a row. New QB's, no matter how much raw talent they have always require time on the field to get to know their teammates and the offense. No matter who, there will be growing pains. We will have to go through those pains no matter who Rocky deems to be the best QB replacement. My sole point is why do it twice? I look for next year to be a "transition" year--that's different than the "rebuilding" years we've been going through. There will be some bumps next year so let's just get it over with. Finally someone who gets it regarding the QB spot. These keyboard coach's think it's great to get a 1yr. QB for our last year in the MWC. I don't know what is so hard to think lets get what we have now and get them the experience for the Big East. Your absolutely right when you say bite the bullet this year. But who knows we all might get surprised. Let Dingwall and Jeffries battle it out, I'm thinking Jefferies for the next 4 years.

Realistically, how much money can a late round player make? Besides any signing bonus: " The minimum salaries for NFL players have increased by $55,000 across the board. For 2011, that means rookies will get $375,000. Players with one year of service get $450,000. Two years of service will push the minimum to $525,000. Players with three years of service will make a minimum of $600,000. For players with four to six years of service, the minimum salary is $685,000. Seven to nine, $810,000. For players with 10 years or more of service, the minimum salary is $910,000. The amounts increase $15,000 per year in each of the next four seasons." www.cincyjungle.com/2011/7/25/2293151/the-minimum-salaries-for-nfl-players-have-increased-by-55000-across
