Should State now be recruit Big East states NOW. Start selling SoCal to MidWest kids because I see where Four-star cornerback Devian Shelton had SDSU in his top three, but chose to commit to Oregon State. SoCal Hi school kids still look at the PAC-12 as superior, even if the team is one of it's lower echelon. This with the Big East news. Now Kids can go anywhere they want, but there has to be a kid like a Trae Clark, DT: 6'4", 320 to come here: rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Trae-Clark-122105 Ohio State hasn't offered and he's being pursued by mostly Big East schools. Why not get our foot in the door now. Selling SoCal living will be the easy part, now selling the program will be up to Rocky and his staff. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? that's actually a good idea. i just saw a interview where Ross Sibiling a 6'4 WR from LA said the thing that stands out about SDSU is that they'll be in the BE soon. It'll be great to start getting those big MidWest kids in here that want to get away from home but still play in a big name conference

That's what you want to hear. Sell this team to the Mid West and Southern states. Another option to SoCal instead of USC and UCLA. I not saying don't go after SoCal talent, but we need to cast a bigger fishing net especially when local kids are looking either east or to the PAC12. If there's concerns about DL/OL size, I've seen plenty of it on Rivals and other recruiting boards listed in the MidWest/East/South, that's not being pursued by the big boys. You would think that State could go up against the FIU, Ohio, Miami-Ohio, and directional schools of college football. If these kids are willing to leave their home states, give them another option, and us more opportunities to pick up solid recruits.

need to use all ties we have, when we played in the N O Bowl was time to recruit in the surrounding areas- with Marshall. We have at least one coach with some background in the midwest. Would also use the connections Rocky has is Texas- if the budget is there but at least let people know SDSU is an opportunity for those looking West.

It is a good idea. The fact that we don't make the move until 2013, gives us a year to get them acclimated to the system.

$$$$$$ is still needed for that to really happen.
We could start making a stronger push into Texas, but I don't see why when there is plenty of talent here in CA.

But With Us playing in the Big East West with 2 Texas teams, we can now recruit Texas easier and get the player that want to play outside of Texas, but still have games in Texas so their family can Watch them.
