Agreed, Marlins overpaid for Heath. But I really am tired of seeing the players I enjoy watching go to another team. Is there anybody left on the Padres that I should care about? Latos, maybe.... I know it probably doesn't mean much, but I was a season ticket holder. 2 years ago I gave up my tickets, and just bought single game for about 10 games, last year I was not motivated to go to ONE SINGLE GAME. How many other fans feel the same way? What has happened so far in the off season to make me change my mind this year? Losing Bell, well that's sure a step in the right direction. Season tickets to watch this team...boy...to have those You're either: A) Wealthy and still won't go to even 50 of the 81 games, as the team is painful to watch, offensively. B) Are a super die-hard fan who is enamored with the sport and the franchise (See: Bill--whom i give props to). C) Retired and just like baseball. And have enough money for a season package.

I was never as high on Forsythe as I am on Decker, I'll tell you that right now. Forsythe's only had 150 or so AB's, little too early to judge him, IMO.

Because the Marlins finished in the bottom half of overall baseball standings the Padres get their second round pick instead of their first round pick. The Padres stood to get anywhere from the 16th pick in the first round to the 15th pick in the second round. We ended with the 9th pick in the second round. Sucks. After all the sandwich picks that is around pick #77. We also get a sandwich pick around #38 for Bell that doesn't change based upon signing team. The Padres will get another sandwich pick for Harand signing with the Dodgers. Draft picks as currently stands#7 (Padres #1) #38 (Bell) #49 (Harang) #75 (Padres #2) #77 (Bell)

The best record in baseball was the Padres "AA" team. There must be some good players there since age-wise they are below league average. The minors are stocked. That can be seen by the Padres not signing rule-5 free agents but losing a couple.
