4th Quarter.
31-20 Bears. Anyone really surprised? I'm not. A.J. has left Norv with an average roster and Norv, in typical Norv fashion, gets no more than average performances out of his players.
Bad GM, mediocre coach. Neither will bring this team a Super Bowl title.
The Bears are not a great team, but they are good - and that's good enough to beat the Chargers.

And Philip Rivers is reminding me more and more every day of Ryan Lindley. We have TWO of them in San Diego.

But Philip has never had those Lindley-esque lapses where you ask, "Who/where the hell was he trying to throw the ball to? It wasn't anywhere near his receiver!"
Not until this year. Something is going horribly wrong with the Chargers, and Norv seems clueless about it. A.J. has wrecked the team and now look at it - a losing streak like we haven't seen since Ryan Leaf!
The Bears dominated the Chargers. That wouldn't have happened 4 years ago.

FIRE.TURNER.NOW!
I hope the Chargers get embarassed for the rest of this year. Four and twelve. Back to the Henning, Gilbride, and Riley days. $#!+. Turner is those three rolled into one.
Won't matter though. Dean says Norv is the "key" the this team's success!
Who'da thought?
Maybe Dean could dig up Harlan Svare! I hear Al Saunders is still around.

FIRE.TURNER.NOW! I hear Al Saunders is still around. Hey, Saunders has been pretty darned good as a coordinator over the last decade or so! He's coached under some really good head coaches and learned a lot! I'd MUCH rather have Al Saunders than Norv Turner right now.

He has some Super Bowl rings. But like Craft, and dare I say Rocky, his arrogance and ego overcomes reality. He thinks he can be successful as a HC and handle the coordinator job at the same time. I think even a REAL genius like Coryell knew better. FIRE.TURNER.NOW! Oh, and Saunders was a flop as an HC. Aside from being a backstabber for Spanos.

Don't the Chargits only fire 14-2 head coaches?

Bad ownership that will never win the big one! Hank Bauer likes to tell the story about A. Spanos riding in an elevator with him after he had been on the Chargers for a few years. Spanos didn't even know who he was!! The Spanoses have never connected with the players ala: Eddie D., Jerry Jones and the other great owners who have won multiple SB's.

Now apparently AJ has closed the Thursday practices to Charger alums....Spanos doesn't give a damn about the players and the GM is an egotist....Great organization.

Oh, and Saunders was a flop as an HC. Aside from being a backstabber for Spanos. I know he was a flop - 25 years ago. He's learned a lot since then. He wasn't ready for that job at the time, but it was given to him anyway. And all I'm saying is that I'd rather have him than Norv right now.

I never thought he should have been hired in the first place, BUT... No coach---none---can win with the kind of "talent" we have on both lines and in the secondary. Hell I'm not sure that we're particularly strong or deep in any aspect of the game with the possible exception of QB. That falls on the player personnel department... You make good points, but have you been following Jim Harbaugh and his seeming abiity to make chicken salad? I don't think we're particularly deep at QB either. Yes AJ needs to go, too.

Congrats to Marty, and I hear you. But I doubt Marty would be interested. Maybe if Spanos went to him on bended knee with sincere 'mea culpas', offered him double his old salary, and promised him control over personnel decisions for both staff and players, he'd reconsider. The only condition should be "no sitting on a three point lead for three quarters." Let it all hang out in the playoffs.

I"d rather have Luginbill & son before another round of Marty Ball. Luginbill's NFL Europe and XFL Championship > Marty's UFL Championship
