Could the sanctions against Iran be working?

I'm inclined to think that Iran would be less of a problem now if even tougher sanctions had been imposed five years ago. That they were not is due to the pusillanimous weaseling of the Europeans.

Remember, Radical Islam is only a threat if you think it is. So what if they kill a thousand Americans a year. Hell, we do far better than that with guns in this country all by ourselves.

So what if they blow up an embassy or two every ten years. Remember most of the dead will be foreigners working at or near the embassy.

Just sluff it off and pull the troops home and disarm.

Final paragraph

There were those, led by, uh, Charles Krauthammer, who denigrated the Obama Administration's patient and wise efforts to include Russia and China in the sanctions regime. As it happens, that diplomacy--a real achievement, by the way--seems to be having an impact. Who knows? It might even work.
