For years I was in the top ten and the it gradually fell back in sales. It has been a great source of Revenue and allowed my to pay for all my sick wife's medical bills. Surgery after surgery. It has now soared back into the top four in sales. That has to make me the most famous writer in the history of Mobipocket (The French company where Amazon posts all of their E-books.) Here is a link: www.mobipocket.com/en/eBooks/Category.asp?Language=EN&categoryId=15&Name=Action+%26+Adventure. Notice which book is fourth in sales. I have been in the top ten for the past year. Gosh, I might be one of the most famous Aztecs of all time if they make a movie out of this book.

I read your first book, Joe, Good premise, strong opening, enjoyed the San Diego setting, but it did not carry through for me. I'm glad for you that others liked it and are buying it. Joe, one other point, you will never beat Raquel Welch in my book.

I read your first book, Joe, Good premise, strong opening, enjoyed the San Diego setting, but it did not carry through for me. I'm glad for you that others liked it and are buying it. Joe, one other point, you will never beat Raquel Welch in my book. Dude, she is sacred and exalted. She is beyond mere mortals such as I. When I said I might become a most famous Aztec, that left me well below her lofty position. Glad you liked the opening to the book. I wrote it per request of my children. It was a story that I made up for them, and it was written as I told it to them with some attempt to hold on to Christian values for the key characters. Think of it as a book that would appeal to teenagers. I am not a writer as I have posted hundreds of times. I failed English Four in high school and never took any English classes in College. Quite frankly, I am not qualified to write a book, but I did for my children. I printed the books up and distributed them and even sold a few copies and let it go, only to receive an email from a woman (Mrs. Hoffman) in Minneapolis who wanted to know when I was going to write a sequel. It turned out that she had paid $95 for it used from a book seller on the Internet who was based in Seattle. I asked her why anybody would pay such an outrageous price for a used paperback, and she told me that her book club had actually voted to buy it because of word of mouth commentary across the country among all of the book clubs. A few months later, Amazon, emailed me and told me that since my book was selling on Amazon I should consider putting it up as an E-book on their French site MobiPocket. Amazon had bought the site to house all of their E-books but wanted to get current writers to put books up for sale as well. So, I went to the site, downloaded their software to convert the Word Doc to an E-book and the rest is history. The first book soared to number one in Sci Fi sales and stayed there or in the top three places for most of a year. That never happened before according to MobiPocket. I was getting a lot of complaints because of the religious "faithful" characters that I moved it to Novels where I still got complaints, but not as many. It stayed in the top ten there for a long time, but eventually fell to 40th and below in sales. It was still selling though, when I got the brainstorm idea to list it as "religious fiction" where it quickly moved to number one and stayed there or in the top four places for over a year. I was outselling the "Left Behind Series" by my old pastor Tim Lahaye. Now, that was impressive. At any rate, I wrote the sequel and combined the books into one and eventually moved it to Action and Adventure after I started receiving complaints that the book was not "religious enough" for religious fiction. Well in Action and Adventure I have not received one complaint about the characters being too religious, so I guess that is where I should have placed it in the first place. But, what the heck, I don't have the slightest idea what I am doing. All I know is that it pays my wife's medical bills and for that I am thankful. As I told a member of our board, years ago, I thought I was retired at age 51, but the stock market correction in 2001 and the medical bills required that I hustle to make coin to pay all of the bills. Having done that, I am retired again. Spend most of my day around the garden or the pool and am enjoying my elder years. The kids have been after me to finish writing my book Newbeard the Great, but I have been stalling for the past few years. If I ever get it done, you can proofread it if you want.

He was enthused and felt that it should be made into a movie, as he stated. He has contacted me three times since telling me that I should bring Joshua and Maria's sons back to North America and have them reconquer the continent. I don't think it will sell, so have not started a third book in the series.l. I have received a lot of positive Emails, but I have received nasty ones, too. I just roll with the flow. You can not please all of the people all of the time. Remember, I never knew that the book would sell like it has. For everybody four or five who likes the story, there is at least one who thinks it is too religious, the dialogue is too complicated to follow and so on. I respond to each and every one of them. I thank them for the criticism and state that if I write more books I will try to improve to meet their expectations. To those who compliment me, I simply say Thank you. Hey it is not easy writing a book, especially if you have never taken a creative writing course before. When I first wrote the book, I had over a thousand typos. After the first proof reading by my English Lit Honors Major Wife, there were still plenty left. It is hard to catch typos. It is even harder to an author to catch typos. You know what you wrote, so when you try to proof read your own work, you see "what you think you wrote." I know that from experience. The person who writes a book should never try to proofread it. Of course, it could be that I am just a really crappy proof reader.

Seven years later and even with Bob's lies on the site, I am still in the top three in Sales in Action and Adventure. That has to be an all time record for an Action and Adventure Book. I assume that refers to my comment that you published in a "vanity press". Okay, I'm willing to admit that self-publishing is not the same as vanity press publishing, but really Joe, how many copies have you actually sold? And I will be the first to admit that while I write damn good description, the one thing that held me back when it came to writing was dialogue - I'm just not very good at it. But please, enough whining about my "lying". I have no problem with you being published; it's a great thing whenever anyone gets published. But really, Mobipocket? I'd be much more impressed if you'd published something in an Ace Double. OTOH, if you'd like to offer me a free copy of your books, I'll be more than happy to read them . =Bob

It is not a vanity press site. I have never dealt with a Vanity Press and have no desire to do so. Amazon contacted me about converting my book to an E-book. they told me to go to their MobiPocket site in France and convert the book using the Mobipocket software. I did as instructed almost seven years ago, and the rest is history. It just keeps on selling and selling and selling and selling. It has helped me pay for all of my wife's surgeries but I have a great many more bills coming up. I do not understand why you have to make attempts to hurt people all of the time. You profess to be sane, but the constant insane crap you constantly pull on the other posters on this board is very sick. Why don't you reform your ways before you die?
