good post. IMO, he will be a good back up QB in the league because of his tremendous arm strength....He simply doesn't have the receivers to throw to this year which is not helping his cause. Watching the QB's in the NFL now, especially backups and there just are not that many great ones in the league.

He needs to work on his touch on the short and mid-level passes as well. He needs to throw a more catchable ball like Kellen Moore. He does a good job on deep balls, but tends to only "fire" the short and mid-level passes.
I swear I wrote the above before I read the article, but realize I'm parroting the critique after having read it.

According to this guy Lindley gets rattled easily. Furthermore he says that's where his inaccuracy comes from. Not what one would call a ringing endorsement.
If Lindley can't overcome his fear from pressure then there's NFW he'll ever make it to the next level. Sipe, where are you? The only NFL guy that I can recall who played scared was the Rams' Jim Everett. I once saw him sack himself when nobody was open and the defenders were closing in. Too funny.
I wonder if this writer wrote this before our Michigan game. We'll get to test his theory next week. Expect Lindley to see more of the same from TCU's defense.

Lindley has an incredibly strong arm and sometimes is very, very accurate. But he has these games or at least quarters when he looks so off, it's hard to believe it's the same guy. As someone alluded to earlier, he had some of these games/quarters last year and Michigan at least the first three quarters were one of those inaccurate games. However, he did have a lots of drops and plain mistimed plays where he didn't look on the same page with the receivers. But there were at least 3 times when receivers had plenty of space and the ball was delivered no where near them. That tape needs to be burned if he expects to be a high round draft pick. The good news is there is plenty of time left to show what he can do. And I believe in the guy.

Jim Everett...I once saw him sack himself when nobody was open and the defenders were closing in. Too funny. Funniest thing I think I've read here in awhile. I remember when Jim Rome called him "Chrissy" in an interview and Everett kind of went after the 5'8" Rome.

I just read/heard something that stated the greatest predictor of NFL wins by a QB is accuracy - sorry Ryan it's just not going to happen. He'll get drafted mid rounds but will probably last as long as K O'Connell.

I think we are all victims of overrating our beloved players. Lindley is nothing more than an below average backup QB in the NFL. I see LESS success than Kevin O'Connell had in the NFL, and he had none. You can't blame his receivers all the time. For every bad drop the receivers have, Lindley makes a bad throw. Despite what the writer says, I think Lindley relies on his first read too much, and won't check down. Several times in that Michigan game he got freaked out in the pocket and just chucked the ball. What is going to happen against TCU and Boise St. who have better pass rushes than Michigan...

Lindley has the tools, he just needs to refine them. Hell, there are starting QBs in the NFL who never started in the NCAAs. Lindley already has an advantage.
No matter where in the draft he gets picked up, the kid will get paid to play ball, that's already a good thing.

Lindley has talent and body to be drafted on Day 1 of NFL Draft.
Those questioning his accuracy should take note a TON of passes dropped this year, especially on 3rd down plays. Make most of those and you have a team with significantly different offensive numbers, not just Lindley. Pro WR's make 99% of those catches. Pro Scouts are smart enough to see that.

I concur.

Last season, Lindley completed 57% of his passes WITH 2 NFL receivers.... Translation, Lindley overall is not accurate enough to be an NFL QB. If he can't hit 60% completion against college defenses, what's going to happen in the NFL?

Lindley would have a tough time hitting the broad side of a barn if it was moving. yes, he can throw the ball to Neptune, but can he calculate the math to have it meet the planet on its orbit? No.
