From what I saw, their defensive front will get killed by power teams like Wisconsin and Nebraska. Our line certainly lacks power. The Michigan dline was stunting all day which makes me wonder if our line is slow as well.

They just pounded us up front, end of story. Watching Embernante get pushed around was disheartening. The D line just couldn't hold up when it had to against Michigan's great running back--Robinson. Aztecs, road game, big crowd. Doesn't mix, good luck with that one. We still have not overcome our road issues, we haven't taken that step yet. Rocky says his team needs to get tougher and I'm sure he'll eventually toughen us up enough to play a big game on the road in front of a big crowd. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation. I agree. Coach Long even said that it will take time to convince the players they can play with the BCS big boys, and that they are all Division 1A teams. I hate to say it but one of the problems today was between the players ears. Yes Michigan is bigger however, as the Air Force Coach said today on the pregame show on the MTN, "there is no reason that you can't play with and beat bigger teams." Yes, our OL got pushed around but Lindley has that deer in the headlights look. He had that same look last week in the first half against WSU and the MTN announcers were commenting how at times Lindley looked intimitated and they couldn't understand that because Lindley was a senior with years of experience. I agree with them. I am hoping things will change next week against TCU, but unless the problem between the ears gets fixed before then I am afraid there will be a similar outcome as today but maybe a little closer in the score.

Well Ryan is not a great QB in his four years here he has never come close to a 60% completion percentage. He has great arm,but just can not improvise or buy time. our defensive scheme weakens our oline, because they never play against a big four man line. and power running game. It is just like a spread passing game weakens your defense against power running games. YOU have face it in practice. If our strongest player bench's 440 that means out oline is not very strong.
We have to win the Air force game to have an chance at a eight win season. The wr situation is still not settled, and LIndley just is not championship level QB. Ask yourself what would have happened if we had a five man front averaging 275 forcing their QB to throw.not on every play but on some. no ingenuity. The way to beat SDSU is line up a big Offensive Line and run Right at them. Like byu did last year.
You need to have more than one set. 6'0 245 lineman versus 6'5 315 pound olinemen disaster. Balls State is killing Army by the way I fear Air Force and three straight losses.

Last I checked Ryan Lindley doesn't play defense and had nothing to do with us giving up 300 yards on the ground. Nor did he help Hillman put the ball on the ground twice. Yeah he wasn't perfect, but it was hardly all his fault.
Jeeze. We simply got beat by a team that was supposed to beat us. We traveled nearly across the country for an early game, against a team whose coach recruited most of our players, and has one of the best players in the country playing offense for them.
There shouldn't be any shame in this loss - just chalk it up, take the $ million payday and move on.

The same can be said for the defense. Lindley was by no means good in the game, but imo he doesn't quite deserve the lion's share of the blame in this one.

Denard Robinson is just damn good with the ball in his hands. I'd have to look at the stats, but it sure seemed to me that there was very little Michigan offense outside of a Robinson designed QB run or a read option where the D keyed on Robinson. Like Michael Vick at VA Tech. Oldie Out Not even close. Vick could actually throw the football, Robinson can't. I think his longest passing play was on a screen and when he did go downfield he got picked or overthrew his receiver. Vick was also a much better runner, though Denard is good.

This was a winnable game. I don't think we were outplayed. We lost because of dropped passes, fumbles and an a bad game by Lindley. Our D did a great job the second half. All of the problems can be fixed. it wasn;t like 10 years ago when we just didn't have the athletes.

Your statement infers the team showed up ready to play. The Aztecs today were beat between the ears before they hit the field. I support the team, but not their effort today.

Our defense made necessary adjustments in the second half, our offense did not.

I don't understand what L.A. means by Michigan just being better. If he's saying at QB, I agree since Lindley was awful today. If he's saying Michigan's highly criticized D-line is better than our O-line, I agree with that too. In fact, I think Michigan's D-line is just starting to come into its own after being horribly coached by Greg Robinson for three years. If L.A. means something else, I immensely disagree. Their running backs are mediocre, their receivers didn't show me anything and their secondary allowed our modestly talented receivers to be open all day long. Had Lindley been given any time to throw and not been so off target, the outcome could have been much different. I thought one guy on their D line was dominate. But besides that, I didn't think they out muscled us. We could have beat that team today. No doubt. There QB was just better than ours today. It happens. The only reason he was better is that he can run. But he sure can't throw! Lindley will have better days, and so will we.

Sorry guys but Michigan is no great team. They have a great running back playing quarterback and the rest of the team is average. We played horrible today and that is all there is to it. Good news is we are still going bowling for the second year in a row. When is the last time that happened?

They are better, they dominated at the line of scrimmage and they have the best athlete in the NCAA. That said, we were one f'n made play on one of those 10 possessions inside the 50 that didn't yield points from being in that game. One of the most frustrating games I've ever seen.

Good news is we are still going bowling for the second year in a row. When is the last time that happened? If Robinson stays healthy, Michigan can continue to run, in essence, a single wing offense and go 9-2, 10-1, given their schedule. If Robinson gets hurt Michigan is a .500 team. As for us we still need to exorcise the demons of doubt. I prefer to think we didn't lose we just ran out of time. A win over TCU will go a long way towards reestablishing a winning attitude.
