and even Mr. Optimistic Billo aka Statboy has nothing to say about them over the last couple weeks. Thank God for Oktoberfest/Beerfest Friday PM. Starts at 4:30P i.e. plenty of time to get ready for the "game"

Fading into sunset is much too kind of a phrase.
I would say they are crashing and burning into the abyss.
Bill's optimism is found in our minor league system.
Even if it is stellar, the pro team is so bad right now that we have no veterans to mix and match our minor leaguers with
our only hope is that Guzman turns out to actually be legit, Rizzo learns how to hit in the majors and Maybin continues to get better and better.
I would say the mor elikely scenerio is Guzman turns out to be a half year fluke, Rizzo reminds us a lot of Kouzmanoff and Maybin hits his ceiling at around .290 to become a decent ball player but nothing to build a franchise around.
The Paders will be very bad for a very long time IMO. Like the stretch we had from 84-96.
