"AAA" Tucson: Nada The Storm is marching on--to the Cal League finals. I was there last night. I was really surprised by the small crowd - 2,011. That is less than they averaged during the season. I guess it being a school night makes a bigger difference for them. Nick Schimdt had a no hitter into the 5th inning. He has been really slowed by injuries over his career. If he will ever become a Padre he needs to go to "AA" next year and rock. He will be 26 next year. I would bet against it but it wouldn't be unprecedented that an injury plagued minor league career gets a pitcher a late start and he later goes into the majors and has a career. 8 Innings, 2 Hits, 2 Walks, 9 Strikeouts 1-0 victory.

Strange they must use the all-star game to determine home field advantage since SA had a much better record than Arkansas.

The attendance usually drops during the playoffs--don't know why, but I suspect you are correct with the possible reason; school back in session.
