How anyone with half a brain could not see that severe rationing under ObamaCare is inevitable is beyond me. And there's more. We already are starting to suffer from an acute doctor shortage as a result of this misbegotten law. Far from making American health care better and less costly, ObamaCare will make it less effective and more expensive. One of the responses to this piece alludes to a disturbing fact. The rich will not suffer, or not suffer so much, under ObamaCare. And, if I am not mistaken, Congress has exempted itself from the noxious effects of ObamaCare. ObamaCare will cost lives, and those who voted for it and the one who signed it into law are to blame. www.nydailynews.com/opinions/columnists/tantaros/index.htmlAzWm

He also said that people could keep their insurance if they were happy with it. It's pretty clear that such a statement was, at the very least, wildly over-optimistic. I think the problem with ObamaCare, well part of it anyway, was that Obama did not keep the one promise that he should have. That was to have an open discussion about the government's role in health care. There were a number of things that could have been done with bipartisan support. There was really no reason to ram through a comprehensive law that will, despite what the Left says, give the federal government great power over who gets what health care and at what cost. Obama also made a mistake in simply turning this whole thing over to the Democrats in Congress with no real guidance. The result is a convoluted mess that almost certainly will cost far more than projected while at the same time ignoring a number of sensible reforms that could have been tried on a trial basis at least. The vast number of waivers that continue to be given to various groups and industries testify to the gross flaws in this law. If ObamaCare is so great, why do so many people, especially those who support the Prez (i.e. the unions) want no part of it? AzWm

Gentlemen, you have to triage at some point. That is a given.
