Having made the commitment to oust Qaddafi (perhaps it would be more appropriate to say "foolishly made") and then doing far less than what was required to fulfill that commitment, Obama now faces the possibility that Libya will be like a dead bird hung around his neck. More and more, it is obvious that Obama is inexperienced and irresolute in matters of foreign policy. He tried to be too cute by half in this case, starting a military intervention with no intention of completing it successfully. Refusing to get involved, though there would have been criticisms from some quarters, would have been a wiser policy than what the Big O has tried to pull off. The following writers discuss this vexing issue and how it may turn out. Doyle McManus: www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-mcmanus-libya-20110424,0,7911589.column Steve Chapman: www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/04/24/unwelcome_surprises_in_libya_109640.htmlChapman suggests two undesirable outcomes should Obama's overconfidence about the ease of unseating Qaddafi be proven false. . . . . . Obama will have two unwelcome options: He can slink away after failing to achieve the goal he proclaimed, or expand the U.S. military mission in hopes of getting our way. In either case, the Libyan affair has once again demonstrated how foolish it was to make so inexperienced a man President of the United States. AzWm

It became evident very early that Obama was a empty suit in way over his head.
