When healthy, he's a beast. I'll stay cautiously optimistic.

I like the signing. I didn't think we had a chance due to money. Keep Weddle in the fold and paired with Sanders, I like our safeties, a lot. Of course this is all dependent on Sanders staying healthy.

As a Colt fan I've watched him for years, which is hard to do since he rarely plays. This is a good deal for the Chargers if he stays healthy but he's just made of glass. Was injured on the very first defensive series this past season and didn't play again. Played in only two games in 09, six in 08. I kind of wanted the Colts to give him one more chance but they thought otherwise. I'll just be sick if he has a breakout year.

Not a bad signing at all.
Find me another hard hitting Sanders with a few inches in the draft and we'll be fine.

Solid move. If he gets hurt again, it doesn't really cost you anything, if he stays healthy...watch out!

I like the move, but never mind HIS health, how bout the health of the NFL actually having a season this year?

I like the move, but never mind HIS health, how bout the health of the NFL actually having a season this year? Too much money at stake to NOT have a season. It will happen.

Agreed. Solid signing by the Chargers and yes, there will be a season this year.

Good signing as long as they are not counting on him to play more than 5 games.

BAD signing - he's only played in a total of NINE games over the last THREE seasons. The guy is fragile, and as he's gotten older I doubt he's getting any more resilient.
And, of course, this will be the ONE name free agent that A.J. signs (you all know he doesn't usually sign name free agents), so it's going to be more addition by subtraction with the Bolts - wich in the real world is subtraction by subtraction. That means another disappointing season next year as the window closes.
A.J. needs to go.

If he gets hurt, he gets cut, thats it. Its a low risk high reward signing....the chargers paid minimum and anything they get out of this guy is a plus. the chargers defense is in need of a "tough guy" he brings a mentality that we currently lack and hes a huge playmaker when healthy which he said he was.

And Shawne Merriman said he was healthy going into last season, too. Could have used that roster slot on a Special Teams stud. We would have probably won 2 more games with a solid special teamer on the roster instead of Merriman. They won't cut Sanders until halfway through the season at the earliest - and we'll have lost out on another roster spot in the meantime. Just like last season with Merriman.
