No billy white block, thomas alley oop. Hockey made it in the top 10. We get mentioned in the last second of the broadcast. No highlights

The game ended too late for the Los Angeles evening sportscenter. The final score was barely mentioned at the very end of the broadcast.

Ya, it was funny though because the #3 play looked EXACTLY like the one you're describing, except the block and dunk were both better.

Nothing new, and unfortunately it won't change as long as we are on the mtn.

Nothing new, and unfortunately it won't change as long as we are on the mtn. The game ending at around 1am eastern time has nothing to do with the mtn. If it was on ESPN in the late slot that USD was in, there would have been no mention of it on SportsCenter period. West coast games that start after 7:30 local time simply end too late for highlights to make the late night SC.

People in North San Diego with Time Warner Cable have an excuse not to see the game, ESPN doesn't. They have access to every game, every night. For them to not be able to piece together a highlight reel for the #6 team in the country is a combination of East coast bias and utter laziness. If you want highlights, DVR or watch Postgame on channel 4. They have Aztec stuff almost every night.

They should make a top 10 of just hockey every night as far as i'm concerned. Hockey is the best sport in the world. It's a shame more people don't follow it.

Watching it this morning, we were the last game covered and then they also mentioned USD beat Saint Mary's...
They showed the reverse oop and the block.

Was watching ESPN news as the game was about to end and there were plenty of Aztec/Lobo highlights being shown. Saw the block, Thomas' dunk, KL's crossover dribble that looked like the Lobo defender broke his ankles on, Rahon draining a long 3. I came away impressed that they had that much ready before the game was even over.

We live in an East Coast Country. 70% of the country was sleeping when the Aztec game ended Wednesday night. We just need to run the table in the NCAA Tourney. Then we will make Sport Center. Maybe even ESPN Classic.

Better coverage on the CBSC on Wed. Sportcenter is becoming retarded these days.

Believe it or not ESPN2 immediately following the USD/St. Mary's game led with our AZTECS. In fact rated us a final 4 contender...... They brought us up before talking about the Wisconsin game.....

Woke up this morning and our 19 home wins and highlights was right after Purdue/Wisconsin.

Even if the game ended on time I wouldn't blame ESPN. About the only time you see highlights in standard def is when a high school kid makes a last second half court shot to win their state championship. All of the big boy sports are in HD.

Well, we could go back to ESPN... and go back to being crappy and never being seen and hope to be shown on the odd highlight reel.
Or, we could be shown LIVE ALL THE TIME and just not give one crap whether ESPN shows us or not.

Driving around this morning I listened to Rivals Radio. Chris Childers and Tom Huguenin spent a half hour discussing hoops. As usual, 90% of it was about the Big East, the SEC and the Big 12. (The ACC must be really bad this year.) Anyway, the only West Coast game discussed was USD over St. Mary's, but they spent several minutes discussing it. Why? Well, it was apparent to me it wasn't just a big upset. Rather, both guys watched the thing. Why? Because it was on an ESPN station. They didn't even mention that the #6 team in the country also played. Why? Probably because both guys have cable and can't get The mtn. Just one more example of how the MWC's TV deal is really hurting the conference.

Yeah, it would require taking a smaller piece of the pie in order to subsidize the cost to Comcast or whoever the hell owns the thing but as I said above, that TV deal is just killing us.

The ideal situation would be to use The Mtn. for a majority of the games, assuming the channel goes HD and is in more homes. Then have our high profile games on ESPN, CBS or NBC. Versus and CBS College Sports prevent the MWC from showcasing it's best games.

Doesn't seem to me that it's killing us. Our conference as a whole -- including SDSU -- is performing as good as just about anyone, anywhere in football and basketball, ever since The Mtn. went on the air. If the Mtn. can expand it's footprint and go All-HD, All The Time... Great. Fantastic. But I've already got great coverage. I don't care if Mable Hendershot in New Jersey won't give us our props because she can't see us on her cable station (Esp. if she can easily rectify that problem by getting DirecTV). If all goes well, she'll see us on CBS when we're in Houston.
