So many others — Lincoln Kennedy and John Lynch among them, along with Junior Seau, Chad Hutchinson, Mark Malone, J.J. Stokes, Tommy Vardell and Dokie Williams — went elsewhere.
Stokes was a Luggie screw up. He really wanted to go to SDSU because he and Darnay were close but Luggie refused to look at him as a receiver and was adamant that J.J. be a TE.

I enjoyed watching La'R oi playing on the Mesa, and following his career in the NFL.

While many HS players have gone to school in other places, it's not as if La'Roi Glover is the first to come to State. How about Brian Sipe (NFL MVP), Robert Griffith, Patrick Rowe, Jeff Staggs (another Pointer!), Russell Allen, Roberto Wallace, Darnay Scott, and others. All local, all played in the NFL.
