Politics..too many career minded individuals and too many agencies not willing to share. Two out of three is not bad. I see no harm in having a well trained core of career employees in the intelligence community. The politics is ugly for a number of reasons with none larger than the appointment of political hacks at the top of agencies when it just makes sense to promote from within when competence and experience are important. The stove piping that raised its ugly head during the Clinton years was a huge problem and I am not sure that we are past that. Granted it just became apparent under Clinton and may very well gone back much further.

here is the short answer to why US intel is so lousy today: FRANK CHURCH, democrat, Idaho He succeeded in weakening the CIA during critical years thanks to his Namby-Pamby, politically motivated investingations into CIA ops. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Church

The CIA/Skull and Bones Fraternity/Bildeberger/Illuminati organization was begotten in the post-WWII era, and has been screwing up ever since. In quasi-chronological order: Korea (UN vs. MacArthur), Cuba (Bay of Pigs), Vietnam (Ho Chi Mien), Chile (Allende) , Afghanistan (Taliban), Iran (the Shah), Lebanon (240 Marines), Tien An Mien (man vs. tank), Berlin (the Wall), Bosnia (genocide in Europe, again), Mogadishu (Marine bodies), Kenya (Embassy bomb), Yemen (USS Cole), Saudi Arabia (9-11), Afghanistan (again), Iraq (UN vs. USA), and the beat goes on, and our debt gets deeper, and our liberty is diminished.
It's not lousy. It's doing what it intends to do. Obtain worldly control and assert worldly power.

It is better than letting radical groups run the countries of the world. I applaud their idealism but laugh at their stupidity.

I applaud their idealism but laugh at their stupidity. Okay, I'll bite. If I understand what you're saying it is this: 1. It is delusional to think that men seeking power and control over the world is "wrong." 2. Radical means "bad." 3. Idealism is stupid. Did I miss something? Please advise.

Idealism can be foolish. Your assumption about men seeking control is 180 degrees out from what I know to be true. Radical means Bad when it comes to Radical Islam. I have killed enough of them to know that killing them is the only solution. There is no compromise with Radical Islam. Kill them as soon as you identify them. Do not hesitate.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought you meant "control over others," and I did not know you were talking about Islam.
