I would love for them to knock off a Big East team in the tourney.

We need to beat BYU so we can get the #2 seed in the West Bracket.

We need to beat BYU so we can get the #2 seed in the West Bracket. We also need to hope that if both us and BYU end up as 2 seeds that the Anaheim regional has the 2's playing on a Friday/Sunday rotation so that BYU would not be able to go to that sited due to their anti-Sunday rules. If we get shipped off to New Orleans or San Antonio because of their refusal to play on Sundays, I am going to be pissed. Lunardi was actually talking about this last week when he was on Darren Smith's show.

As it currently stands we have 4 wins over tourney teams (unlv x2, st marys, LBSt) while teams like Notre Dame have 9 and Georgetown have 10. This is one of the many factors considered when seeding and a realistic reason that if we lose 1-2 more times we could stumble to a 3-4 seed.
CSU, Gonzaga and Wichita St are currently on the bubble and would help our seeding if they get in ... but so would a 10-15 point thumping of BYU next week. I guess all we can do is handle our own and win the games on our schedule.

If we win out, there is only one way we do not become a # 1 seed. And that is if Duke, Pittsburgh, Texas and Kansas all win out. Ohio State could lose to Purdue next Sunday and still be ranked ahead of us. But I'm betting that at least two of those teams lose one game which should make us a # 1 seed if we win out.

If Lunardi has us a #2 seed, but not the MWC tournament champs, then he must figure we win out the regular season and lose to the Zoobs in the MWC finals. I don't see us getting a #2 with 3 Ls, unless Texas, Ohio St., Kansas, Pitt & Duke have several more losses each.

Am I reading this right, that the Tucson bracket feeds into San Antonio for the later rounds and not Anaheim? If so and we do get in that bracket, it's a bummer cuz Anaheim games would be practically home games for us. Oh well, now I'm getting greedy. Just being in the tournament with a high seed should be enough.

I'll leave the inevitable flaming to someone else, but here's the short answer: The round of 64 and 32 "pods" (Tucson, Denver, etc) can feed ANY regional. In fact, in most of the pods, you'll have four teams from one region, and four teams from another region.

Not sure why the other poster suggested I'd get "flamed" for asking, but I guess that's just how some people are on here, which is unfortunate. Oh well, whatever.
