I haven't seen/heard anything about how the on-campus viewing party went yesterday near the trolley stop.
Success??

You didn't need to be a student. Anyone could show up and participate. There were about three or four hundred people there with the band and cheerleaders. The projector didn't really work until the sun set so we didn't get to see most of the first half. But it was still a good event. There were even a few UNLV fans there.
Only thing I could've done without was during the first half someone started smoking pot and the smell got pretty strong where I was sitting. I had both my kids there (2 years old and 9 months and would've been happier not exposing them to that.

But hey at that age, they arent going to know what weed is by looking at someone smoking, they arent going to know what it smells like by having it in the air around them. they arent going to be able to differentiate the smell of weed from a smell of a fart. just sayin so they didnt get "exposed" to weed. Its unfortunate that people were smoking weed there. And idiotic to do it out in the public like that. but your kids didnt learn any habits from smelling a smell they have never smelt before.

I'm all for the student's having a little fun with the ganja in college... But I would have been annoyed too sitting with my son on the hill smelling pot. If there are families around, the student's need to use a little better judgment.
I'm impressed to hear that there were 300+ there. That's pretty awesome.

I'm thinking the parents should have shown better judgement.

I'm thinking the parents should have shown better judgement. Yup. Im not hating on either sides or trying to talk crap. Its college. That stuff happens. Weed is just as common as drinking beer. the kids that did smoke just need to be smarter where they smoke and not out in the public where they can get caught. I can also understand the parent getting upset, but their kids are too young to have their brain even comprehend what is going on. now i could understand if the guy's kid was like a 6th grader or in that area. but hey you go to any college event anywhere in the country, there will atleast be one person smoking weed.
