DJ barely started to get aztec-land recognition - last year it wasn't until at least half way through the season that half the people thought he was any good, and this year there were still a number or detractors.

They guy usually doesn't do anything special, but he almost NEVER does anything stupid. Which is rare for a player at any level.
Rock steady is a very apt way to describe him: Never gets too up, never gets too down, and rarely makes a mistake. When things start to slip away, he doesn't panic and keeps at it, and the rest of the team follows suit. And he doesn't ever try to do too much by himself. He's just a smart basketball player.

More from Rivals/Yahoo... In their positional power rankings, D.J. currently holds the #19 position (I think it's the first time he's appeared on their radar). With his efforts this week, he should move up a notch or two. collegebasketball.rivals.com/viewcbse.aspNote: Leonard is also their #4 small forward

What is so crazy is that DJ was almost an afterthought by Aztec coaches. He was going to attend Cal Irvine and the Aztecs realized they needed another guard at the end of the recruiting period....They called him and the rest is history as they say.

The best national recognition DJ had, IMO, is the 2 points against BYU, 0-7 FG. Oh, and the opposing PG had 43 points.
