I don't care what it takes, Sterk has to make sure we keep Hutson on the staff for stability and for future talent. After the season ends he's going to be approached by other programs. Bank on it.

Yup good read - does anyone know if we have a succession plan in place for Fisher? Is Hutson in the mix?

Yup good read - does anyone know if we have a succession plan in place for Fisher? Is Hutson in the mix? It sounds like Hutson has officailly replaced Dutcher as our top recruiter for few years now? Based on his age, recruiting ability and his attention to detail and practicing perfect ... this guy sounds like the perfect replacement for Fisher ... in 2-4 years. It sounds like he should also get a raise and the assistant "head coach" title?

It will be very tough to keep him if he is offered the head coaching job at another D1 school. Unfortunately, there will be nothing Sterk/Fisher can do about it. With all the attention Coach Hut has received this year, I'm sure some AD's have taken notice.

Is Hutson in the mix? i hate when people bring this up, sorry no fault to you. but that is the absolute worst thing a college team can do. There are no succession plans. The head coach needs to be the head coach with no qualm about the future. Unless the coach has specifically said this is his last year coaching. Even then I wouldnt do it Simple fact. All the assistants should be given a raise after this

I have been preaching about Hut since he first arrived here....He will be a D1 head coach without a doubt....And a winner. I hope we can give him a substantial raise and keep him...I was reminded today by an Aztec booster at the Vegas airport who donated tens of thousands of $'s to get rid of Chuck Long....Why can't we do something similar to beef up the salary of Hut...He is recently married and could certainly use some more coin....He passed up asst. positions already at much higher salaries. He is one of the main reasons we are having this incredible season.

i agree with other the Aztecs need to do what ever they can to keep him.... even deem him the replacement to Fisher when he decides to set down.... Coach Hut can recruit and coach..

Fisher has said he wants to coach for another 5 years at least. So you are going to have a head coach in waiting for 5 years plus. That sounds like a brilliant plan. Ask Texas if it worked for them? Ask Florida State if it worked for them? Its the WORST thing a college can do. Who knows what our needs will be in five years or coach Hutsons. Just give them all a RAISE and leave it alone. It was one article written with a Hudson bias.
