You're referring to the 5th foul. I'm referring to the 4th foul. Where Billy was running along the baseline and ran into a UNLV defender. Horrendous call. The 5th foul where he extended his elbow was a good call.

With 4 fouls and Billy backing in against Stanback on the baseline, I felt that offensive foul coming from a mile away...but oh well, he's come up huge in other games for us throughout his career, and fortunately he didn't cost us tonight.. almost That offensive foul was pretty ticky tack. Doesn't usually get called. But Billy really tried to force the play. Chase cut off his usual baseline move, Billy tried to get some space inside and then had nowhere to go. As for Billy bringing the ball up the court, that wasn't Billy's doing, it was Fisher's directive. UNLV, in case you didn't notice, was pressuring the ball up the court about 80% of the time. Fish employed a variety of strategies to break the press (and with great success, I might add.) He had Gay, Rahon, Thomas, Leonard, White and Carlwell all pitch in to bring the ball up the court. It really dumbfounded UNLV, for the most part.

Billy is a very good player when he plays his game. I think most people are getting frustrated as he's had some pretty bad games recently. I'm sure he'll get things figured out down the stretch, the Aztecs need him too if they're serious about a deep run in the tournament.

Just be glad we have him with all his warts. The depth we have when all are healthy makes his emotional play less damaging than it would be were he our only good player. I choose to think he is over emotional and energetic rather than dumb or with a low BB IQ. He is a real asset for us and will be missed.

You throw an arm for your 1st foul, not your 5th. As a senior, i would expect more composure from him. Can't make those kind of mistakes come tournament time. But hey, we won so let's get on to the next game.

The referees in the NCAA tournament are entirely different that the nit picking refs in the Mountain West. His aggression will not be punished as much in March and his value will be unleashed. With all respect to KL and DJ, when Billy is "on" there's no one on the floor close to him and he it is incredible to watch. Unfortunately he is always having to tone it down then he gets two fouls in the first few minutes. My favorite player by far.

I'll take Billy White on my team anyday!!!!!!Why don't you come up with something positive when we are having the greatest year in Aztec Basketball history? In order to have the greatest team in our history you have to have some of the greatest players in our history and over the last four years, which is evident you haven't been watching, Billy White has been one of those players.GO BILLY!!!!!!

The refs gave him ticky tack fouls. It's revenge for Billy not staying home to play for his hometown team. 30 points against Gonzaga and his ability to re-vitalize the squad with his emotional play. He's the AC Green of the Aztecs. Oldie Out

Billy played hard at UNLV and he played good at UNLV while he was not in foul trouble.
He got cheap fouls and took him out of his game. Billy is due for some big games coming up.

I'll take Billy's negatives with his positives anyday. I'm guessing he'll have at least one more game where he'll win it for us.

Is this thread serious? Ripping on Billy. Dude wears his heart on his sleeve, plays through pain, gives us his all for 4 years, is a major part of the team, and has helped us win way more than has ever been the reason for our losses throughout his career. I could maybe understand if we were 1-25, but this is a complete lack of respect. Check yourselves. thanks for bringing reason and perspective to an otherwise stupid thread that has smoked out some pretty ridiculous, ignorant, and flat wrong psotters.

Kruger had them playing very aggressively, Billy's play reflected his way of countering that type of pressure.
