I can live with him coming off the bench as that was my expectation based info coming out on Monday. While the game it not at altitude, UNLV will try and push the tempo. They will also force us to take outside shots. Last game against them we shot 4-17...fortunately they went 1-18. So it would be nice to have Chase available as a threat from long range. Altitude of Las Vegas. . . an interesting question. Not like Albuquerque or Laramie, but it is 2030 feet. I suppose that is not too bad, but it's not 500 feet, either. Joe, aka Mr. Hemoglobin, once linked an article that basically said there is no noticeable effect on the body until you get above about 2000 feet. And the impact of 5000 feet is not 2.5 times as great as it is at 2000 feet, it's more like 5 times as great. The point was that as exemplified by the fact the Aztecs have historically played well in Las Vegas but miserably in Laramie, Vegas simply isn't high enough to have any discernable impact on our players. That said, this game concerns me greatly. UNLV may be as bad a shooting team as there is in the conference but we've been winning every close game we play in this year and we're bound to lose one eventually. Plus, UNLV desperately needs a signature win in order to qualify for the NCAAs as an at-large team.

This may come down to how disciplined BW, MT & KL are in the paint. They pull some early ticky tacky fouls and find the bench & that may spell trouble. J. Franklin will need to show up & have a game like he did vs. Utah & make that shot from the wings. Rahon will also need to hit his 3's with Chase on the bench. Gotta play smart & make your open looks!

Longtime...Shooting with two hands feels really weird IF all you know is the classic one-handed jumper. I think that Jamal uses a hybrid shot. It sure looks to me like he's got his right elbow flared a bit "outside", similar to how BOTH elbows were used during the two-handed set shot era. Looks weird. For kicks, what "shots" to do think are absent from the game today, that still COULD be used effectively. I'll go first...The Hook, from 6-12 feet. Really tough to defend, and using the backboard HIGH OFF THE GLASS. Hardly ever see it, and the extra height makes the shot really tough to block. I don't think this is the time to be trying new tricks. Just perfect what we have and go with it.

I hope that they can rest and continue their recuperation, however as Fisher noted this would be a signature win for the Rebels, which are a good team and playing in their own home court.
