Does anyone know yet when they'll finalize the conference schedule and post it on goaztecs.com? I see the non-conference schedule without the start times posted on other sites. Thanks!

Usually the first week of March or April. Themwc.com is the first place it is released.

We can deduce from this that AFA and TCU will most likely play on 9/10. Both teams have an OOC game scheduled in the middle of conference and both have September 10th open. The only other schedule would be AFA playing BSU on 9/10 and TCU playing the Aztecs on 10/8. Or...pushing TCU v BSU to Dec 3. That could be (they think) a big TV bonanza.
SDSU has back to back byes before conference play. That will mean the Aztecs will get a conference game before the 7 week conference window of 10/15 to 11/26. The Aztecs will play Wyoming or UNLV on 10/1 or they will play TCU or New Mexico on 10/8. This will also mean that the Aztecs will be one of two teams with a bye in mid conference play. The other team will be the team the Aztecs play on 10/1 or 10/8.
AFA still has a game to schedule. They have 9/17, 9/24, and 12/3 available.

Highlights of next season's home games:
Cal Poly III - Our Long National Nightmare will end Boise State - Welcome to the MWC TCU - Farewell to the Froggies Fresno State - Return of the Red Swarm (Bonus game!)
Not to mention - Wazzu, WYO and UNM.
That's right - SEVEN home games next year.

In an article they released about a week ago, it sounded like they know who is playing where and on which dates, but the times are up in the air probably due to TV scheduling. Makes me wonder, if they can't play their games on a true national channel, then what is holding up the TV schedules.
Thanks for the early composite schedule Bill.

Boise will be here for the Thanksgiving weekend - hopefully it will be a larger crowd than last year's game vs. UNLV...

I've heard that thanksgiving date thrown around too.
I wonder if the conference is going to set up rivalry weekend sdsu v. boise and championship game day sdsu v fresno and the rest of the conf. rivalries going forward (and boise v. air force that weekend would make it likely that the top 4 teams would be playing the last 2 weeks), it would be back to back big games, but it would also set up State to play huge games at the end of the season and a chance to have a number hanging next to it's name.

Good question. Obviously not money games. I guess they want to schedule 1 non-conf game with teams they see as canon fodder. SDSU no longer meets the description.

We needed to turn things around by dumbing down the schedule significantly after the mess Baywatch and Schlemiel made of the program. However, that's been done. I'm not advocating eliminating any FCS schools like some do since even the SEC uses one of those as essentially a practice game to open the season. However, we're now back to being good enough to play one of the big boys of the sport every year and should strive to do so. Oh and for those who say we should demand a home and home, forget it. Just like we should be demanding 2-for-1's from the likes of New Mexico State, Nebraska and the other heavyweights are going to demand that from us.
