Coach Fisher will be live at Hooleys in La Mesa tonight for his weekly Coaches Show! Show starts at 7pm and Fisher is great in this setting, he gets out and talks to every single person at the event. Go Aztecs!

He can't comment even privately about recruits who have not signed a letter of intent. The guy next to X is probably a friend of the team and not a player if you are talking about who I think you are.

My wife and I saw coach Fisher last night at Hooleys. All I can say is, it was awesome and a must do. As the previous poster mentioned, Fish walks around and talks to everyone. He stopped by our table twice.
Also, the food at Hooleys is really good. We had a great Filet Mignon dinner for $16. The only negative is Chris Ello needs to talk less and let coach Fisher talk more.

"Chrissy Ello needs to talk less.." has been an issue since time began.
That Fish visits and talks to the Aztec Nation individually and en masse, is proof he's a master. He's not like the last AD, run out for getting reimbursed for personal pleasure mileage, and who wouldn't ever stop long enough to talk to the "little" people. Schemelllel would rush through the Aztec tent, stop by his buddies, then jet out to he high spot above us all...where ever that was...
Looking back to the first time meeting Jeff S. at the Fresno State tailgate. He sat with his "wife" and two friends from Mannysoda at our table. He never said, "hello", "hi", "How are you?", "Hi, I'm Jeff and this is my wife." Not a word. First impression was true.
Same for the current AD.
I think the Profs in college need to explain better the, "Fratenize with the elephants..." theory. They need to explain that it IS very important, first to identify what exactly an "elephant" is and how to figure out if you have an ant or an elephant...
When you have somone as fine as Coach Fisher next to, "Chrissy Ello"...what'd ya expect?

The only negative is Chris Ello needs to talk less and let coach Fisher talk more. I'm sure doing a radio show is a very tough thing to learn how to do. You have to talk and talk and talk...and try to have no dead air time. People know who the host is and they tune in to hear him/her. Chris is very good at that. Conducting an interview that is billed as the "Steve Fisher Show" is completely different. If I am at these shows in person...I'm screaming as quietly as I can. If I am home listening to the computer...I'm screaming very loudly. What am I screaming? "Shut up! I want to hear Coach Fisher!" It is beyond me that no bosses have pulled him aside and taught him how to quickly ask a question...then shut up and let the star of the show talk. He rambles 3-4 minute stories...and then asks Coach Fisher to comment on them. Someone at the station should take two stop watches and time the minutes each of them talk. It should be 3-1 Coach Fisher...and I'll bet it's at least 6-1 Ello. Chris is a good guy, good radio person and actually an excellent play-by-play guy...but it seems clear that no one that should...has ever helped him learn how to do interviews. Being a good "listener" during a conversation is not easy. I beat myself up alot for talking too much after speaking with someone. If it's your job though...you better be good at reminding yourself to "shut up" often during your interviews.

Even worse than the length, is that his questions aren't usually questions, just his own commentary, then he takes a break and the fb/bb coach talks.

Chris Ello has mastered the art of the rambling 2 minute commentary/question.
Ello needs to listen and learn from Dan Patrick - short, concise, relevant questions that get the guest to speak. After all, that's what listeners tune in to hear.

KOGO Program director, Cliff Albert was standing next to the stage most of the night. Can't believe he didn't notice Ello's long ramblings. Of course, Ello had to spend 2 minutes extolling the virtues of Albert and KOGO to the audience and radio listeners.

Coach Fisher is very patient with answers and breaks things down in terms easy to understand. It's the old school teacher in him.

Dave and everyone else is right, Chris Ello talks too damn much, especially during these various coaches shows. I would agree that he does decent play by play and will add that he is a very good writer in my opinion and seems like a good guy. As for his radio show, he talks a bit much there as well, to the extent that is seems he just likes to hear himself. Like Dave, he makes me scream at times which is why I quit going to the shows he was doing with Hoke at Claim Jumpers. Even though I was alone in a stall with the toilet flushing, the faucets in the sinks running and the hand dryers blowing, the Manager told me that other guests could still hear my screams throughout the restaurant and asked me to leave and not come back.

I'm guessing that during his formative years he was exposed a bit too much to Uncle Teddy.
