When I walked out of my statistics class and heard Coach Coryell was leaving for St. Louis, I immediately became a Cardinals fan and have been one since, (the other white meat,
besides they have a really cool logo).
My allegiance was solidified when Coach Arians set a goal "that hadn't been accomplished since Don Coryell", which was winning ten games. Now the Cardinals have accomplished something they've never done, post a 12 win season.
Yes, it's a slow night, having some fun, but as I process the sadness that even though I'll never live in San Diego again, I'm saddened the Chargers may not either, I look at the years of both Charger and Cardinal frustrations and see two teams heading in totally opposite directions.
What is it about San Diego sports?. And please, spare me the accomplishments of some small time college football team, (take your pick). Major league baseball in this town is a joke, (for the first time ever, I'm beginning to ponder why I should bother going to spring training, but I know THAT won't last), especially when I see the latest snow ball to the groin, the KC Royals.
Let's see....Padres, Gulls, Aztecs, Diego Toreros. What a sports town. Yes, it's been a good night of fine wine, but as it relates to sports, between SAN and SLC, I'll give the edge to SLC.
And that should have never happened.

The way they are playing right now they are proving to the NFL that they are legit, and could be the favorite of the NFC to make the Super Bowl.
Their offense is much better than last season, especially with QB Carson Palmer healthy, and they have a defense that is tough also. The whole state of Arizona is going crazy for them, and believes they can do it this year!
