A better idea than earmarking money to improve the Q would be to create an endowed fund for a new stadium contingency plan. Trust me.......whatever money they spend on revamping the Aztecs' locker room will be money well spent. Honestly, I don't know how they've been able to get by with it all these years. It's terribly small. There are actually two locker rooms: One for the Aztecs, and the other for the visiting team. But the NFL uses BOTH for visiting teams. I just can't imagine packing 80 players, plus the coaches and the equipment guys in each of those little rooms. It has to be incredibly cramped! Is/was the Q too old to have locker rooms for both teams? I always assumed that the Padres and Chargers had their own locker rooms and that college football uses the one baseball ones.

So sayeth our resident Chargers honk. =Bob And just how many times have you been in those locker rooms? Can you describe them for us? Don't be a douche, =Bob. You know nothing about it, so your input is unnecessary.

Is/was the Q too old to have locker rooms for both teams? I always assumed that the Padres and Chargers had their own locker rooms and that college football uses the one baseball ones. The old Padres clubhouse isn't really used for much these days, but its location makes it impractical for use by one of the football teams. There is a tunnel (located under the football stands) that led to what used to be the Padres dugout on the first base side. The current Aztecs/visiting team locker room (which was also used by visiting baseball teams) is located behind what used to be the third base dugout. The Chargers' locker room is located in between. Think of it this way: The tunnel where the visiting college football teams come out (also where the Chargers come out) in the southwest corner of the field is the easiest way to access both the Chargers' and Aztecs'/visiting locker room. Go to the top of the tunnel ramp, turn left, and there's the Chargers' locker room. Turn right and you find the door to the visiting college locker room. One more door down is the Aztecs' locker room. The two are adjoined on the inside, much like a hotel room is connected to a room next door. And no, the Chargers do not allow their locker room to be used for college games.

The Padres old locker room and Gwynn's personal batting cages under there provide enough room to expand the locker rooms. Trust me. I guarantee I have spent more time down there than anyone on this board. There is plenty of room in there. The "need" for a new stadium is just BS the Chargers have spewed. I can recall being part of the expansion talks in the 90's and the Chargers promising the "renovated" stadium would add another 50 years to the stadium. What a crock - but it is typical of a Spanos led/Chargers argument. Their ethics are questionable at best.
