Here's what I see. Each mega conference has 2 divisional champions (2 x 4 conferences=8 teams). Each plays for the league championship (4 conference champions). Those 4 play and the two winners play for the National Championship. It's an automatic built in playoff system that determines the national champion. Once again the MWC and other conferences get left out of the BCS and the national play offs. Yes the MWC will get hurt by all of this shifing around. Just my opinion.

For the first time in recent memory I have no idea as to what is going to happen regarding Aztec football. I am used to going to games and knowing the outcome weeks before hand. This is kind of fun as I can truly say I have no idea what the landscape will look like when the dust settles around the various conferences. One thing for sure, there is a ton of speculation out there and everyone's guess is just as good as the other guys. Nice to think the MGC--and by way of association, the Aztecs--are finally "sitting pretty" in something. I'll enjoy the thought while it lasts, recognizing that with all things which are money driven I don't have all the facts and the outcome may be something completely unexpected. Although I am enjoying the thought that maybe, just maybe we'll get a good result here my thought process is tempered by the knowledge that SDSU is very seldom in "the right spot at the right time." Time will tell the tale. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

On the Mtn has commissioner Criag Thompson live. The MWC choose not to expand at this time.

Kinda goes along with this: texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1091537(read the last section entitled Crystal Ball) It's likely we're going to be on the outside looking in.

There can't be 4 mega conferences. The reason I say that is some hugely important and powerful schools would be left out and there is no way in hell that can take place. The two schools that I am thinking about are Colorado and Kansas. There is a very good chance that these two schools could be left out to dry (along with some other really big-time schools) and there is no way to do that without huge political and financial issues coming into play. I think that there has to be at least 5 (and maybe 6) big conferences to make this all work. Also the MWC is in the perfect geographical location to be okay.
Of course, I know nothing but right now there are 70+ or so teams that are big time/have tradition/successful. If a few get left off, hell has no fury like a flag ship state school that has been screwed. It will be an interesting few weeks but I really think this will be good for the MWC and SDSU once the dust has settled.
