Only Brandon Sullivan and Davon Brown graduate from the backfield. With the likes of Hillman, Kazee, Garrett, and Muema, etc, SDSU will continue being an excellent and loaded rushing game

Thank God! An informative post that does not include the grossly overused cliches' "I'm just sayin'", "Let it go", or IMHO

Kazee is a WR. He was experimented with at RB because he is a beast.

Kazee is a runningback. I think you are confusing Kazee with Ezell Ruffin. Kazee is a WR. He was experimented with at RB because he is a beast.

Refresher:
His running style is very similar to Ruffin yet, more physical. He seems to be quicker than the 4.6 time given. Runs well in space and runs strong between the blockers.

Davon Brown was listed at 5'9, 185 lbs.
Brandon Sullivan at 5'11, 210 lbs at fullback. Good sophmore ready to take Sullivan's place at FB and is more of a natural FB.
This kid comes in as a 1st year player at 6'1 about 210 lbs. Will be a good physical compliment to Hillman.

He'll provide the extra punishing, physical element to our running game. Kazee has speed but lacks physicality, Young lacks speed and quickness. This kid will fill the void Sullivan is leaving open. It will be interesting when Garrett and Muema are given the green light to contribute.
The offense will be in good hands.

I'm interested to see if anyone(Muema, Garrett, Hardwick, Chase Price) moves from RB to defense. Garrett loves contact, he ran over some people. There will be some nice competition for playing time behind Hillman and Baxter

Baxter? Dillon Baxter?
Didn't know he was here. You know something we don't know?

I believe Kazee averaged around 5 yards per carry and a lot of great running backs have come out of the MAC.

Kazee has decent speed and is small but does not lack physicality. Hoke has on multiple occasions described him as the toughest player pound for pound on the team and a very physical kid. He might be better off moving to slot receiver as he may get lost in the depth chart at rb.

Kazee is the most physical and intense guy on the team. He has more tenasity(sp?) than anyone on the team..anyone.

Physicality, I meant was the strength to move the pile, make a hole when there isn't any. Yards after contact (YAC).

It appeared as the season went on, Kazee would replace Hillman for short yardage situations. He's a more straight-ahead runner.

Oldie Out true, in a sense. but yet he still finds a way to make plays and gets the yards. And another thing he is actually amazing at...pass protecting. he know he is undersized. he knows there are ppl out there that dont think he is big enough to play the game. He carries that chip on his shoulder and proves people wrong on the field. he is one of the most underrated guys on the team.

I think Kazee gets more out of his ability than any of the backs. That was enough to beat out Brown, Miller, and Sullivan two seasons ago. This year, Hillman was head and shoulders better (he's head and shoulders better than most). It'll be interesting to see if another back can come in and and beat out Kazee for the back up job. Hoke loves competition which might give the advantage to some of the new kids. But, he also loves tough football players so Kazee might have an advantage because pound for pound he's the toughest, and players like him give the whole team an attitude.
My January guess is with Hillman's workload increasing in the passing game, the back up will need to play more of a role than this year, so they'll need a more dynamic back than Kazee has shown to be at this point in his career. It'll also be interesting to see who gets Sullivan's short yardage carries with Hillman being the favorite.
Let's not forget Ruffin had passed Kazee as the number 2 back in Spring before his injury. It could be telling what Hoke thinks about Kazee that he tried moving a WR to RB last year or it might tell us nothing about Kazee and everything about how good the coaches think Ruffin is.
