This morning I noticed a series of mean spirited comments in regards to the initiating of certain topic threads. Hey...we are not all sports experts and some of us have valid questions to ask that you may find silly. Why not see this as an opportunity to educate someone without the sarcastic remarks...or simply move on if you feel the post is not worth commenting on? I have no issue with sports smack-talk...however, when posters start assassinating each others character or try to embarrass others for the threads they post...this is no longer a board that is enjoyable to read. We are all Aztec Fans!!!!!!

Not sure what you're referring to but my opinion is this. If you're a newbie, you deserve to be cut slack (provided you're not a troll) and, as you say, should be patiently educated. However, if you're not a newbie and you start a thread that's a regurgitation of a topic somebody else has already initiated a debate about, you deserve scorn for being too lazy to look before leaping.
Welcome to the board.

I bring up topics on the Aztecs all the time on this board, and some seem to pick certain Aztec topics of mine and spit hatred toward me for posting them. For instance...Chuck Long topics and Zuma topics. They are both Aztec related, ON an Aztec board. Why would anyone be upset that I mention those two topics. It is a very easy system. You look at the thread topic and then decide if it is something you want to read. If don't want to read the topic, don't click on the thread. And if you think a new person asked a silly question, ignore it and let somebody else help them. Yes, we are all Aztecs.

Welcome to the board. OTH, SGF, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking I already spend too much time on this board and frankly don't want to become an expert in AM research just so I won't offend anyone by starting a thread that may be redundant. My suggestion is that instead of getting snarky or downright asshoelic, just place a link to the original thread and move on. Then again, if people would be bigger jerks it might cure my addiction to this site.

I will say, however, that during the conference basketball season each of the last two years I've gotten sufficiently annoyed with some posters to just leave for a month. So I may be taking a vacation from the board shortly.

For instance, aren't you a University of Phoenix, Phoenix? Furthermore, no one spits hatred at you for bringing up certain topics. Some do malign and ridicule you for being unable to support your opinions with any logic or details after you present them as facts. Others become frustrated and lash out at you when they can't make sense of your non-sense. But that's not hatred. In fact, I'm sure most of us love you (in a Christian way). To prove it I'm going to say a prayer for you right now!

howie, I couldn't have said it better myself. Even on this thread, people see fit to snipe. It is sad when in fact, there is so much for us Aztecs to be happy about.

I'm a newb here - but is it possible that Az-Fans, so used to having stinky teams to bitch about, are at a loss as to what to do with their new-found happiness???

I think you're on to something here, Aztecs have been known to sacrifice just about anything during their era, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. "oh, look, the heart is still beating....."

Yeah, bring up the former head coach's name or the new mascot will cause much hate and discontent. Just don't take it personal. People get really passionate about their feelings.

Quakers have an interesting take on stating opinions that keep the fistfights down to the minimum (exept for occassional attacks on Buddhist Monastaries.)
1.) Make your comment without attacking a previous speaker. (Cuts down on back-and-forth.) 2.) Speak only once to a given issue. (So hold your tongue and make it a comprehenisve one.)
Recently someone declared a thread to be too stupid to be discussed and then posted five (5) comments on that particular thread. Personality conflicts are erotic to some people. Ignore trolls please.

Most people on the board are quite pleasant, but a few just can't pull it off. ;D

All that I know is you can't have enough "SDSU joining the Pac 10", Chuck Long, "Air Brush Helmet", "On campus stadium", and Tom Craft posts. ;D
