Youtube URL deleted per request of original author. WLRThis is Bernards runs vs La Quinta. Good, hard runner but man I could drive my truck through some of those holes! ;D There might be some big holes to run through, but when a guy is in his way he either goes through him, or jukes him out of his jock strap. He's very talented, big holes or not.

Bernard is a talented kid. Once in the open, he has been caught from behind. Either he was gassed or he does not have breakaway speed.
The most interesting thing in that video was the line blocking. Those are far better than average high school linemen when it comes to team execution. Reminds me of Escondido High way back in the Sixties.

Big win for VC tonight over Los Alamitos 31-28. Congrats Jags. Gilster is the man and a great coach! Gilster's nick name for me back in high school was sit down before I knock you down and insert my last name. Love the man!

Gilster's nick name for me back in high school was sit down before I knock you down and insert my last name. Love the man! Frosh lost up there 28-25. JV won 20-7 and in a very exciting game if you like the Jags, big win on a 47 yard FG 31-28. Big win is an understatement. Div IV Valley Center over Number 5 ranked Div 1 Los Alamitos. You would be hard pressed to understand just how big a deal it is unless you see the Los Al team. They have some huge kids and the skill positions are great with a lot of depth. Gilster and Dave Lay did a great job getting VC ready to play against a great program. A bunch of VC kids stood out including the kicker/DB/WR David Last. He will be kicking for a D1 team next year. All of his kickoffs were well into the end zone. The QB Beau Reilly had his best game of the year in my view with about 16 of 21. Travis Bernard ran for about 150 or maybe a few more yards and had some good run backs and caught 3 or 4 passes. Lineman Kenny Thomas was outstanding on both sides of the ball and can play at the next level if he can qualify. Great effort against a great team.

Looks like VC beat Ramona tonight. Frosh lost! JV won pretty handily! Varsity won a little easier than you would think given the great program and great support Baldwin has built up there at Ramona. Good loud crowd. Ramona returned the opening KO for a TD. It was the only KO that did not go thru the end-zone. VC answered with a FG. Ramona scored again rather quickly and easily and was getting ready to go up 21-3 but got intercepted and then the tables turned and VC controlled the game from there on out. Another great game for three kids I think we should be looking at. Kenny Thomas, Travis Bernard, and David Last. QB Beau Reilly also had a great game both running and throwing which was a real difference. Ramona appeared to key on Travis Bernard and was not accounting on the QB and he must have had over 100 yard on the Ground.

Nice UT article on Valley Center Football. I sure hope we get on that RB and Kenny Thomas. David Last woud also be great if the kicker we have offered goes elsewhere. I can't find the stats now, but I think the RB, Travis Bernard leads the county in rushing by a good margin and has two games against out of county heavyweights who had geared their defenses to stop him.

Valley Center routes Escondido. Story is in the link. What it does not say is that they had a running clock in the fourth quarter. xrl.us/bh364aThe kicker hit one from 51 and hits from 60 in practice. Bernards last TD was a highlite. He just makes people miss. Three VC players left last night after the game and will be making an unofficial visit to BYU at todays SDSU game.
