It was real close in both polls between state and 'nova - we're now one of the few legit undefeated teams left - I think we'll be 7th in both, or at least one.

#7?!?
Beyond my comprehension. I am still adjusting to the fact that we are a lock in the NCAA and it is not even January. Yes, we could absolutely stumble in conference and go 8-8 but watching/listening to us, I just can't imagine that happening unless we have massive injuries.
I started to think about the fact that we might be ranked #1 in the next few weeks if some odd things happen. Never in my lifetime did I let myself drift that far into fantasy before. No matter what happens, I am just enjoying the ride.

I say #7 Coaches, and #8 in the AP. Let's make it happen!

If we can get to 18-0 by beating UNLV on Jan. 12 we should be ranked # 3 behind Duke and Ohio State. At that point, we would be one of the three unbeaten teams remaining. No. 1 is now in sight.

What is even better than the ranking is the fact that the team actually played like the 7th or 8th best team in the country tonight. Way to go Aztecs! Very fun time at Viejas tonight.

If we can get to 18-0 by beating UNLV on Jan. 12 we should be ranked # 4 or 5 behind Duke, Ohio State, Kansas and Syracuse. But the only team the Aztecs would be a serious underdog against is Duke. Only UCONN and Syracuse above us play each other. If we keep winning, we should be no worse than #6. The only way we move up at this point is someone losing above us. The only way we move down is by losing.

Hear me out here. I originally said #7 and #8, but I think we can possibly be #6.
Villanova didn't lose today, but their lone loss was to a Tenn team that doesn't look so good now. I think we jump, but can go either way. Plus, SDSU was already up by one in the Coaches Poll.
Baylor lost to a 'Zag on a neutral court, a team that SDSU beat at the Kennel. I think we jump.
Pitt didn't lose today, but their lone loss was to Tenn. See Villanova above. I think we jump, but can go either way.
Tenn lost twice, once to an underrated Oakland team, but badly to a Charlotte team. I think we jump.
KState lost to a ranked Florida team, and then earlier to a really good Duke team. Still, I don't see many ranking them higher than a 12-0 SDSU team with quality wins at home, and just as many true road game wins as any in the Top 10.
So, I think SDSU can go as high as #6. Thoughts?

Fire, I agree. I don't think #6 is out of the question on Monday.
