What do you people think?
Oldie suggested it, and I like the idea, but I want to see what all the AztecMesa folks have to say before we make that change.

I see a distinction between simply reports on some guy we're interested in as opposed to a kid who actually verbals. So my suggestion is that you guys allow stories of actual verbals to remain on the regular board for comment but that stories simply saying we've offered one of dozens and dozens of guys be confined to the sub board.

Some of us don't follow recruiting very much, so for me personally the only info I usually get is the headlines, and sometimes I'll check, if it was moved I'd likely rarely venture over there. But either way is fine.

Maybe a subsection if its limited to guys that post links to one of the subscription sites and nothing else. I enjoy reading actual info. relative to recruiting and its one of the reasons I visited all the prior sites--to find out what was going on. So I'd hope that informative real posts would remain in the team section. But threads with only a link, fine let 'em have it. I do not enjoy clicking on a thread about a recruit to find that it is nothing but a link to a subscription site. In fact, I think that's rude. At least post the kids name, position and school if nothing more. Just a personal gripe. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

As a mod I'll see what I can do to minimize that stuff (just posting a link to a subscription site). edit - OK, I did something. New rule: Do not just post a link. Please give some basic info (let us know why you posted the link and why you think it's noteworthy). Thanks!

I've been posting the new offers every time I notice one on rivals or scout, and include a link to the player's profile. So should I refrain from that then, or what's the preference (ex. just post who commited rather than who was offered)?

I don't think we need a sub-board for just recruits...but I'd split out Hoops, football, basefail, etc...

Keep it with the rest of the Aztec sports.

I think a recruiting specific forum would help keep things cleaner in here.

My thought would be as long as it goes to a place other than the offer to subscribe it would be fine. Just knowing the name is a start for someone wanting more info.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but even though I'm an ASR subscriber, I find articles saying we've offered somebody to be boring. If a kid actually says he's narrowed his choices down to several schools and SDSU is one of them, THEN I get interested. But particularly right now, we're offering a bunch of kids who aren't going to choose SDSU over any Pac-10 school except maybe Washington State. (That will change if we actually ever win a bowl game.)

I like having all the aztec sports in one place. Keep football, bball, baseball, etc all on one board is my preference.

I agree; plus, sometimes it's nice just to talk about the overall program, and having it all in one place makes it more likely people will post, read and comment on what I guess it is now fashionable to call "olympic sports"

I would rather not have to switch to a different section for recruiting info.

Hmmmm...
Looks like, so far, the majority prefers to keep everything together on on board.
I'm going to go with the majority on this one, but as we're getting new people joining Aztec Mesa every day I'm going to give this more time to see how it shakes out.

edit - OK, I did something. New rule: Do not just post a link. Please give some basic info (let us know why you posted the link and why you think it's noteworthy). Thanks! Thank you. That is a reasonable and fair response. A few lines of explanation is not asking too much. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.
