What are the chances that Chad Baker-Mazara was in the middle of this? If I were a gambling man, and I am, I'd say 90%. Forty-five minutes into the flight to Houston to play the No. 4 Cougars, pilots of Auburn's chartered plane radioed the Montgomery, AL, airport requesting an emergency landing due to players fighting on the plane. The pilots rescinded their request a few minutes later and turned the plane around, landing back in Auburn. The team is scheduled to fly to Houston today for their game tonight. Auburn officially said the incident occurred due to "horseplay" between players, which may sound like b.s. because it is. I was in Spokane last March and watched the Auburn-Yale game in which CBM got tossed five minutes into the game for a knuckle headed nonsense. After the game, I spoke with several Auburn fans who were extremely annoyed with CBM, as well as Bruce Pearl's lack of discipline. New season, same problem. www.yahoo.com/sports/auburn-turns-plane-around-due-to-mid-trip-horseplay-between-players-before-clash-with-no-4-houston-report-005730957.html

I maybe incorrect on this but as bad as this was it doesn't surprise me to much. The coach Pearlman has had issues before at other colleges he has coached at, maybe not this type of issue. But when you run a program like he does this doesn't surprise me.

Knowing Bruce Pearl, there will not be any suspensions for today's game since it's a big one against #4 ranked Houston. I wonder if we will see any black eyes or swollen faces?

There must have been some serious hands thrown if the pilots needed to turn the plane around. How embarrassing for the program. I’m so glad we don’t have to deal with crap like this in our program.

I'm a little stunned -- after 45 minutes -- that they weren't closer to Houston than they were to Auburn. The Wright Brothers could have made that flight in less time.

Auburn #11 just beat #4 Houston 74-69, just building team chemistry in the air....

To be fair though, in the last 1:50 when they were losing 67-66 to Houston, he made a jumper, then stole the ball, got fouled and made both FTs. He's got moxie.

Two back-up forwards in the brawl, one senior and one a freshman. They have 18 players on their roster, including six forwards. The freshman is a small forward. The senior is a big forward at his third school. Five of their six forwards are listed as seniors.

I know he was a bit of a flake sometimes but I loved having him on the team and apparently so did all his teammates. He was one of those guys who you hate when he's on the other team but love when he's on yours, ala J Franklin. Wish he would have tried a bit harder on defense and in the classroom.
