Cue up the "We have to better prepare these kids to win." "They never gave up and fought all the way to the end." "We came close and were only a play or two away from a W." But you have to say it much faster like it has meaning

I hate to say this but this team looks like it has given up on offense. The play calling is unimaginative. Poor discipline, when you have this you get poor execution. They have one run play and it's inside zone which EVERY FKN SCHOOL runs and is not a surprise to ANY defense. Lewis needs to go NOW. He's horrendous. Wicker needs to go as well.

He's a s#!++y coach. A 🤡 No doubt. Wicker blew it. Again. Coach Lewis could be a good Head Coach but he is a terrible OC and needs to hire a new OC and stay away from the play calling next year. Wait, he's coming back for another year of this bull$#!+?

This is the most undisciplined and poorly coached team I have ever seen at San Diego State. Lewis is an absolute idiot. I don’t even know where to begin my criticism of everything he does.
They just got out played, in every facet, by one of the most undisciplined (then injury depleted) teams in the country. I’m boycotting the rest of the season. I’m not gonna watch a game or even look at the stats. my only hope is Lewis will see his epic failure this year and make changes next year However, I’m not sure how that’s possible since he is so oblivious to how ignorant he is.

This guy reminds me so much of Tom Craft. He thought he was the smartest guy on the field. He would gain lots of yards with his teams and lose lots of games because of poor discipline, toughness and execution. I remember Rocky Long’s teams at New Mexico would be out gained by the Aztecs and jet stomp his teams to death because they knew how to play with toughness.
Sean Lewis is giving me Tom Craft vibes. His team can gain some yards but they aren’t really good at anything. And they don’t get better. I can’t believe how many snaps are down at the quarterbacks ankles how many do you need to see before you correct that? Red zone execution of course is terrible. Can’t run the ball and poured discipline the pass game. Hard team to watch.

It is the worst Aztec football has been since Chuck wrong.Ever in Brady’s final year it wasn’t this bad. Lewis is clueless and don’t see that changing even with the best recruiting class / transfer portal additions

So we have all of the negatives of the Tom Craft era, but without the positives.

When was the last time you saw team unsuccessfully running the ball with 3.5 yards per carry, continue to try to run the ball late in the game when you’re losing? Cooper had 35 carries but only 3.5 per carry. I really don’t even know what to say about that.
What I’m really curious about is what in the world Lewis is going to say about that…. “I never even considered not giving him the ball. “

QB threw it 41 times and didn't throw for over 200 yards. That's hard to do man 🤣. Honestly think Lewis should give up play calling duties at this point.

This is becoming much more Craft/Wrong Long as time goes on with just overall bad game planning, bad game prep and terrible play calling. *edit- Forgot lack of half time adjustments

Everything is inside because he lacks the speed to go outside. On every passing down Mr. Cooper just gets blown up. Too small of a running back.

Well, I got sick today, so I didn't go to the game.
I sure dodged a bullet there. This was a game we could have won, and if prepared properly and in-game coached properly we would have won.
But we didn't.
OK, NOW I'm starting to get concerned about Coach Lewis. You can't lose a game to New Mexico like this. Clearly, New Mexico was better coached all around. Even so, we still should have won this game.
Obviously, we can't afford to fire him this year, but if we go 4-8 next year? He's got to go. We can't allow the program to stagnate when it's in a position just below mediocrity. (That is not a place you want to stay.)
I liked Coach Lewis when they hired him, and I still like him. He's the opposite of Brady Hoke - a great talker, lots of energy, and a real personable kind of guy. But, clearly, there is something wrong with how this team is being prepared during the week. And in game he makes some great decisions, and then he makes some bad decisions.
But this game... Man, this was bad. We can't afford to lose winnable games like this.
