Thanks for posting. Always a great interview with Coach Dutch, he seems optimistic about the talent. I hope his extra efforts to the basics will give them an advantage early in the season, compared to other teams learning the hard way.

Haha. "The last two years [in the NCAA Tournament] we're 7 and UConn."

Haha. "The last two years [in the NCAA Tournament] we're 7 and UConn." He's gotten quite a bit of mileage out of that one

very good interview and questions by Rothstein and some very open answers by Dutcher
This team is quite inexperienced But does have talent - the coaches are having to spend a lot more time going over Aztec basics with the guys as there are not that many guys that have Aztec Experience
There is experienced talent with Waters and Boyd - very likely to be the starters in the back court
How well do the transfers learn the Aztec system and how quickly ?
Some players who have have had some experience but how far can it develop and the key factor how quickly
Could be one of the better group of Freshmen talent wise but a major challenge in the transition from HS to college - and the short time to get it right
have a lot to learn in a short amount of time in considering the very challenging mid to End of November schedule
MW has a number of schools that have at least 3 returning players back and so they are looked at as the favorites
SDSU has the talent But when can they get it all together - no small task considering the teams SDSU will be facing in November

The last time SDSU was picked so low, they made the Sweet 16 To be honest, I don’t care where we finish within the conference as long as we continue to win games and have success in the March. (Obviously I know that winning more games will lead to a better seed) Last year was a good example, where we finished 5th in the Mountain West, yet were a 5 seed and made the Sweet 16.

Right now is a favorite time of the year for me; the college basketball media mill is churning, we await the coming season with anticipation, and games start in less than three weeks.

might say that November is a decent month with Football in full swing and Basketball starting their OOC schedule of games
For basketball the 4 or 5 very important OOC games against top teams - will be watched very closely by SDSU fans
