From what little I've seen of the game, it looked like more people in the stands than would be expected given the Padres/Dodgers game. The announced crowd was 31,307. Was that real or the announced crowd ?

I didn’t say we were good… read again… We are likely to go 4-8 and could have lost the game… which is why my first post was “breathe” and if we didn’t drop passes we win last week… If you can’t see progress in what types of schemes and routes… I can’t help you I've charted every offensive play for the past ten seasons. I know what we've run and what we run now. When it comes to schemes and routes it's not that different save for formations and that we now won't run any gap scheme which is a terrible mistake. One of the biggest factors is we've no OL. They are a joke. Can't even get push on double teams on inside zone - the double-teamed DT's are making the tackle FFS. Yet Lewis thinks we should keep calling split inside zone over and over again because at some point it MAY work, I guess. We've literally called inside zone on 77% of running plays this year. Yeah 20 years ago no one knew how to defend it, but now EVERY team runs it as a staple and EVERY defense practices against it over and over again. It's like a school switching to the wishbone triple option in 1985. Yes, progress on "schemes" and "routes" - nvm that we ran all of the same routes and combos previously (the route tree contains only so many routes) but that it is the PERSONNEL RUNNING the routes that count. Lewis runs the same route concepts that EVERY veer and shoot disciple runs. They are well known and damn near every "spread" offense utilizes them (smash, slugo, 4 vert, chris cross, 4 hitches, hitch and go, mesh, etc.) and Lewis hasn't changed a bit. 95% of our route concepts fall within those options. So we are an easy prep for a DC because they've likely seen/played against other teams who run the exact same playbook. That's fine when you have the talent advantage but we don't. We are literally coached by people who 'THINK' they are geniuses because they've co-opted concepts that worked many years ago and that they believe will continue to work ad infinitum but that opponents know how to defend without much trouble. This is where we are, with a bad OL. Best of luck to us. Fowl I've always respected yours and others opinions who could break down a football game for us who did not play/coach and don't know the intricacies. So thank you for doing that for the rest of us that do not understand the game like that. So if Coach Lewis cannot see what you see, do you think he could develop that knowledge/skill as he is only what 37 or 38 years old? We ALL want him to do well for us so I'm trying to see the positives. What do you think he could improve as a coach? Progress over perfection right? My simple brain Madden/College football game playing mind has one thing that I can see and you all please tell me if I'm wrong in this thinking. Why does he give all the carries to Cooper ? I've commented on other threads before on this topic but have the other RB's not earned an opportunity to get a carry or more? Unless it's something that we don't see in practice like everyone else keeps fumbling which if was the case I would be hesitant to stick a player out there.

Just keep winning. Oldie Out Have you seen our remaining schedule? Good luck with that. We will be 4-8...at best... at the end of the season. Well, at least be more competitive week to week and continue to improve. At the beginning, I said we'd be lucky to be a .500 team with all the rebuilding needed to be done. Oldie Out

Let's see if Lewis uses more than 1 running back today and gets the ball to a TE more than 1X.
