I didn't think the crowd looked terrible on TV. It seemed like more people were there than I expected. And we won which might help. Season ticket holders got 2 free tickets for each seat they had. We brought 2 extra people. Also it was parents weekend so that added to the crowd a lot. Announced attendance was 31k and turnstile count was 22.3k. The atmosphere was the best I have seen it all season. My got notice of 2 tix, but couldn't access them? ?

Maybe because TA&MC doesn't play at the FBS level and has started the season 0-5, including 4 losses to non FBS teams? Sacramento State beat them 34-0 and SE Louisiana (2-4) from the powerhouse "Southland" conference just beat them 21-9. Armstead and Sutton simply don't have enough of a sample size to properly evaluate on this year's stats. It's insane to be so committed to one RB that has been very average over the first five games. You don't know what you have on the team until you give the player a chance to show you their potential. Does anyone here know Marshall Faulk's story? Look, I agree he should be the starter and get most snaps, but it's obvious he doesn't deserve 100% of the carries. This is easily my biggest beef with coach Lewis right now. In fact, it's mind boggling to me. I have seen enough of Sutton and Armstead to know they are very serviceable at this level. As an FYI, these guys were essentially recruited to "Running Back University," so the change in offensive strategy is already somewhat of a blow to them. If you are going to remove Cooper's game vs. TAMC, thus bringing his ypc down from 4.6 to 3.6... you seriously have to question Armstead only gaining 9 yards on 5 carries vs. TAMC (with a long of 7, so 2 yards on his other 4 carries). You can't have it both ways. Are you really going to evaluate Armstead off those 5 carries? Do you realize he was only played on the final possession along with Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson and the other second teamers? We were already up 45-14 and he was not in the game to score points, the goal was to simply drain out the clock. They ultimately used 4 and half minutes on just 7 plays. But I also feel like Armstead has had his share of plays over his career. I really feel bad for Lucky Sutton, who is on his 3rd year with SDSU. He only played the final snap of the TCA&M game.

Roomer is next time 2 free tickets and 2 free beers (keep it to yourselves, it a secret!) ***It's all going on Stan's tab Stan is now head of Marketing and Promotions, " Top 5 Entertainment" With half the concession stands(markets) not open, people getting refreshments, we're go 15-20 min. Apparently they were surprised by crowd???

😂 I merely match tone. Hope you didn't pull a muscle congratulating yourself Have you seen me call for his firing? Go thru my post history. If not, use that argument against someone who actually used it. Also, nice deflection away from the fact you support an RB getting 3.6 YPC to get all the carries Armstead is an injury waiting to happen... and only averaging 3.2 ypc. Why remove Cooper's stats against TAMC? In that game Armstead rushed 5 times for 9 yards, hardly instilling any confidence. Against FBS competition. Since SDSU is an FBS program. Armstead has only 13 carries in 5 games. He got his carries without starters in front of him that game, long after the game mattered. Garbage time is when he got the ball with the purpose to drain the clock. Maybe see what he can do with more than 13 carries thru the course of 5 games considering he averaged 4.3 YPC last year and 6.0 the year prior. Also that means Armstead has 8 rushes for 34 yards vs FBS programs this season...a 4.25 YPC avg. If he goes down, there's Sutton and Davis can be a change of pace back if Lewis actually felt like not playing Daddy Ball and running inside zone reads for 77% of his rushes

Also, nice deflection away from the fact you support an RB getting 3.6 YPC to get all the carries Not dodging anything, I am just not sure we have a better option right now. Armstead had a 1.8 ypc against an FCS opponent. He was at 2.6 ypc against ORST. You take out his one carry against Cal for 15 yards and he is 12 carries for 27 yards and a 2.25 ypc average. Hopefully Christon is back for this next game, he is 6 weeks out of surgery with a 6-8 week projected recovery time. I would expect Lewis will adopt him so he can run the ball when he is healthy. And Armstead is averaging 4.25 YPC vs FBS competition this season. Like how you take out the longest rushes to help your argument here but in past arguments argued against doing that to defend Cooper. Then again when you're wrong, your arguments are never consistent

Sure & so does a predicable scheme. Now back to the topic, does a 3.6 YPC justify his workload? I imagine because the other options are just not as good. Armstead is only averaging 3.2 ypc by the way 4.25 YPC vs FBS programs Sutton is 4.5 all season coming off a season he averaged 5.3...5 YPC vs FBS programs in 2024

Yeah 3.6 YPC is actually very below average Just watching him it is obvious that he is far from below average. It takes a good and experienced offensive line and a decent passing game for a running back to shine.

But, vs FBS competition when he wasn't inserted to run out the clock during blowouts Armstead is averaging 4.25 YPC.

It takes a good and experienced offensive line and a decent passing game for a running back to shine. I see a good college RB who got his career production vs some of the worst FBS defenses in a weaker conference than the MWC. I see his production as below avg here because that's what the data says. A better line and a much better coach who calls more than inside zone rushing plays with delayed handoffs 77% of the time on rushing plays would help him. The scheme his coach designed daddy ball around him is ineffective because it plays into their weaknesses instead of their strengths. The fact he's being used for nearly 100% of carries in a scheme that's wrong for him on this team contributes to his below average production.

Really hard to get a read on someone who has such a small sample size (13 carries in 5 games, 1 in the last 3 games) Perhaps, but you win your job in practice. I do seem to recall that he put the ball on the ground a bit last year. More deflection It's not about Cooper Lewis being RB1. It's him getting almost 100% of the carries as a 3.6 YPC back

Again you can't have it both ways... thinking SDSU was the only team who pulled their starters.

You forget your running style changes when you go into clock burning mode. That's the most important part. He was inserted with the purpose to not fumble. Not to gain yardage. Armstead is averaging 4.25 YPC vs FBS schools when his purpose wasn't to burn the clock this season

He plays to burn some clock and then kick. That's not just deflection. Now you stole my stuff and smoked all of it

Why would you want your RB1 in during garbage time? Of course, the same logic that wants the 3.6 YPC guy to get 100 % of the carries Except, he's not 3.6 ypc, is he? The 3.6 YPC is what he has done against FBS teams this year (the last 4 games). So far he has 583 yards on 126 carries, and average of 4.6 YPC. But take away the cupcake warm up game against a FCS team, he has 360 yards on 99 carries, which equates to 3.6 YPC. That average would rank him #125 among this year's division 1 RBs. At 4.63 YPC, he is still only ranked #88. Once again, the point is Cooper has not performed at a level that deserves 100% of the carries.
