4:36 left vs Oregon St at our own 25 down three scores: inside zone to Armstead for 2 yards, 0:35 elapsed after the play, 2nd down inside zone to Armstead for 7 yards penalty of 5 yards, 0:23 elapsed, 3rd down inside zone to Armstead for no gain, 0:35 elapsed, 4th down punt for 63 yards. Lewis is a quitter. He quit on the team straight up. How can you defend that? I'm not. It was a mistake. A bad judgment call. He's still a young guy with limited HC experience. If he does it again that would be a bad sign, but at this point? I'll cut him some slack and recognize that every coach makes mistakes, and that was one of his biggest. Lewis said that he thought Cooper was gonna do something special for us at that time. At some point you have to go back to what worked, especially if one thing is repeatedly not working. Sometimes you gotta go with your head, and not your heart. |

After four games, with a completely new starting roster, some people are willing to give up on the new system? Come on. Let's not be crazy here. If the offense doesn't look better by the end of the season then you might have some room for statements like that, but not now. And the offense did look better Saturday in the first half. When we say this offense needs to GO... It's referring to the AztecFast brand of offense Coach Lewis runs. It needs to GO. As in get moving. We know what you meant Matteo. We mean it when we say, the playbook, play-calling, scheme, and philosophy have to go. As in bye bye |

The speed at how Lewis speaks looks "AztecFast". But I'll give the dude time to build his program, like everyone else that coached here there's a rebuilding period, transfer portal or not that's how it is.
If you don't have the patience to wait, go follow Oregon for a season, then come back in one year.

Well, as much as I dislike Coach Prime and his style, we are starting to possibly see why our HC was demoted. He got some credit for the beginning of the season offense, but maybe the results were misleading. I am starting to worry about this HC and his approach. My biggest issue is how we lose and not the fact we are losing. I was ready for it and expected to lose some games, but I EXPECTED to be competitive. I am guilty of buying into the "AztecFast" and getting excited for high scoring games and seeing the offense execute. I feel like we have seen the complete opposite and have been out coached every game. Heck, the only reason we beat TXAM Commerce is because we had superior athlets. When starters were fresh and head to head, they more than held their own. We got lucky we just were deeper with better athletes. The fact is, this team does not seem to be getting much better or showing improvement. I am now at the point of just hoping we see fewer penalties and more RB's getting a touch. I am not giving up on Lewis yet, but damn he is making this really hard for me. I am not convinced he is the right guy for this. We need to elevate this program, take the next steps, put ourselves in a position for next round of realignment, etc. I feel like we are going in the wrong direction at the absolute worst time. Damn, it makes me nauseous because I really want to support this staff. How can you not have an explosive passing offense with a possible future NFL first round QB and the best player in college football, Travis Hunter? Imagine how frustrated they'd be if Cooper were a Buffalo last season đŸ˜‚ |
