No, not Grand Canyon. The PAC should have nothing to do with that school. Bad news.

Part 1 - Getting Gonzaga was accomplished.
Now onto Part 2 - Sweetening the pot and getting Memphis.

Part 1 - Getting Gonzaga was accomplished. Now onto Part 2 - Sweetening the pot and getting Memphis. If the PAC can still get Memphis and Tulane the PAC is clearly the #5 conference, overall. Could this still be considered a P5 conference if we do get Memphis and Tulane after nabbing Gonzaga?

What is the fascination with Grand Canyon? The merit the Pac 12 gains with the Gonzaga signing would get doused with a GCU announcement.
Get St. Mary's on the horn...

We need 9 full members and 10 for basketball. We have Gonzaga so now we just need to add to more full members to be set for 2026.

No, not Grand Canyon. The PAC should have nothing to do with that school. Bad news. Totally agree. Aren't they Evangelical? They have money to buy their sports just like that hypocrite Jerry Falwell's Liberty University. To hell with academics.

While I don't like schools like Liberty... my objection to GCU has nothing to do with religion, it's because they are basically a for-profit corporation fraudulently posing as an academic institution.

The Gary Parrish Show today on Gonzaga joining the Pac. Gary Parrish and Bennett are pissed that Memphis is not in this league. I believe that media folks like these will have some impact the decision that the AD ultimately makes. They are speaking on behalf of the feelings of the fans and donors of Memphis sports. They want Memphis playing Gonzaga and SDSU every year in basketball. They want Memphis playing Boise State and Washington State in football. They get that it does not make geographical sense, but don't care, because they say nothing in college sports makes geographical sense anymore. I am becoming more and more convinced that Memphis ends up in the Pac along with at least Tulane or UTSA, and possibly all four of the AAC 4 (Memphis, Tulane, UTSA, USF). www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEwbllKnpb4

This is why Grand Canyon University should NEVER be admitted to the PAC...
Just. Say. No.

Travel won't be that bad for Memphis or Tulane. They really should join the PAC. It would be best for all involved.

No, we would need USF, UConn, Creighton and one other school in Texas or east of that to really make the claim of a P5.

I’m with you. No Grand Canyon. But then…these days the players are just professional athletes on one year deals posing as members of an academic institution/community. I don’t blame them, but I don’t know that ethical gate keeping has any place in the discussion.

No, we would need USF, UConn, Creighton and one other school in Texas or east of that to really make the claim of a P5. The PAC should avoid anything further east than Memphis and Tulane. NO UCONN, NO USF. That would be stupid. We'd be creating our own ACC CalFord problem in the PAC for all involved. Bad idea. Really bad.
