This is more about the overall look of the team and how it's coached from the shabby uniforms, poor coaching, bad play-calling, stupid mistakes, critical penalties, lack of in game adjustments and the list goes on but it all reflects on the coaching. I am not one of the guys calling for Coach Lewis to be fired but he needs to make some serious adjustments and get to know some of the OTHER PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM. Shabby uniforms? Really?!?! Go back and watch the replay of the game and tell me that's a good looking team on the field, at some point you need to look like a team, not just a group of guys at the local Rec. looking for a pickup game. Try and look like you have some pride in representing your University (Not a good look, never saw that stuff with Rocky's teams!) You can say what you want about Rocky but you never saw his teams looking disheveled and committing stupid penalties over and over again. You tend to play like you look and this team is playing like they look SHAPPY!

I don't pretend to know football but I am an Aztec fan and have decided that I will support Coach Lewis (and his staff and team) as long as he is the head coach. Then whenever a new guy is named as head coach I will support him. Like everyone else; I was disappointed by the last second loss but I know that those kind of things happen to all teams - good and bad. I will watch and cheer on my team because they are MY team. I will hope for the best because I love the Aztecs. I respect that every fan has his personal point of view; this is mine - I know that my opinion may not be popular right now but that has never been important to me. As the saying goes - your mileage may vary. This expresses my feelings exactly. Well said. I've been here through the Aztec best of times and the Aztec worst of times. You truly are an Aztec for Life.

Special teams & 2 missed 4th quarter field goals killed us again, deja vu'. Nick Lopez misses a 33 yard and a 28 yard field goal attempt in a matter of two minutes late in the 4th Quarter. This reminds me of the Aztec kicking woes of 2012/13/14. Seriously, these are short kicks. Its not like they had to travel 40-50 yards. Aztec Fast, needs to slow down and focus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN39ZAI_wAg

Hell, just go to any AMC and pick the third person in line at the Ladies Restroom and ask if they’re free next Saturday.

It's not about talent against that team, that was not a talented team that we lost to. It's about horrible coaching decisions. Not true. We lost a bunch of guys that are now starting for P4 schools. If memory serves me right, You were the one on several occasions who said good riddance to All the players who transferred out, if they didn't want to be here we don't want you. Now you're using this as the excuse for the poor play this year despite getting the same number of players coming in the portal.

Yes, and has been these past few weeks. I don't know if we even have a 3rd string kicker on the roster.

I think people forget actually how much talent transferred out last season, not to mention multiple OL starting for SEC and B10 schools. Trenches are not deep, little push from our OL on runs and outside of Trey White no great pass rush getting the opposing teams QBs. Exactly C. Bennett to TCU, Crenshaw-Dickson U of Florida, J. Wright Sac St, D. Azzopardi U of WASH, ALL who started on the O-LINE at some point last year and J. Rodriguez U of A who left. LA, These are the same players You said we don't need, if they don't want to play for SDSU, leave, that State will find replacements.

You want volunteers not hostages. It had a huge effect on the quality of play because the new coaching staff had to cut and paste the offensive line together. Let the coaching staff actually have a full one or two recruiting classes before we pass judgment. The original offensive line coach left after one week on the job before they hired Schmidt. They were scrambling from day one. If the kicker makes one kick we’re 2-2 and everyone is feeling good. Instead he misses 2 kicks and everyone thinks the Sky if falling. Everyone needs to take the long view of this and stop living week to week.

I'm not saying Fire Lewis, I know he needs time, but, YOU were ripping the players who transferred out, saying good riddance, yet you are now using it as an excuse for the teams poor play this year. You were tickled pink that the "hostages" left and look at the results. The same O-Line last year that many people ripped for stinking so badly yet the ones who did leave are playing for P4 schools. SCHMIDT is a good Coach and he proved it the first time he was here before he left for Syracuse. I think you also said Marcus Radcliffe (Cathedral Catholic) who started as a True Freshman last year, was not that good and a poor tackler. Well he already has Three interceptions for Texas A&M this year.
Even if ALL the O-Line came back for this season, they would ALL still need to learn a new system as you say. In this ERA of NIL you should expect large amounts of transfers going and coming. I hope your callous opinion toward States transfers lesson over the coming years. I can tell you this, Trey White is more than likely going to leave to a P4 next year unless this team greatly improves or the NIL increases. I watched Lucky Sutton's season he won a State Championship with Cathedral Catholic. He is a beast, 6'-1", and should be carrying the ball up the middle instead of Cooper three times in the row and getting stuffed! I hope he transfers and gets an opportunity to play elsewhere because Lewis hasn't let anyone else but Cooper carry the ball. That running backs room must feel uncomfortable. Lewis can always recruit or get another 5'-6" RB next year to run up the middle.
I don't believe the "sky is falling", and I actually called that the Aztecs would be 1-3 after the first four games. Yet it's not that they are losing, it's the Way that they are losing.

I like how you intentionally ignore everyone saying it's not the W or L but how the team arrived there as you continue to pretend to be the sole person being rational despite you doing this exact same thing with the previous head coach misses. The head coach is a b1tch. He's got no stones. You could tell in his alpha male speeches only weak males make because he's portrays a weak man's vision of strength. You could tell when he runs out the clock when his team is losing and when he does the same thing when his team is winning. His players aren't accountable And he clearly plays favorites to the detriment of the team. But Lewis's is main issue is he's a fake alpha male in an occupation that you get exposed for it really quickly and embarrassingly.

This is what we do know about the Aztecs We really don't know much about this squad because of the gimmicky, hurry up, no substitutions There are a number of good players on the sideline that rarely/never get a chance to contribute. That environment will undoubtedly impact recruiting Even if the Aztecs were 2-2, it would not alter my impression of the HC Unfortunately looks like we're stuck with him for a few years. Fire Wicker

This whole thread is both sad and funny…
Dude played TE at Wisky… no way he is soft…
Unlike Craft and Chucky he has Ben a head coach and has won game and made bowl games with maybe the worst program in FBS…
I was super sad they lost and very frustrated… but it is also clear that the scheme is starting to work on both sides of the ball…
I am excited about our future.

When this thing starts clicking it is going to be a lot of fun. We get a glimpse every now and then. But right now we have 2 inconsistent PKs which, as Aztecs fans of the late 80s and early 90s know, can be VERY frustrating...

SDSU had to replace half the roster. That’s crazy. 90% of the Teams at this level are turning over 50-75% of their rosters. If you're good, someone's willing to pay you more. If you have decent NIL you can get kids with less. Kids that were buried on the depth chart will transfer down for PT. If you have a complicated system that takes time for kids to learn, feel comfortable in and start being productive, your seasons over. Chances are they will move on when the seasons over. He's not a good Coach. Where do you get "90% of the Teams at this level are turning over 50-75% of their rosters". Seems like you are just throwing this out there.
