Wicker hires a coach with a 24-31 career record Even Deion had seen enough and had the wisdom to can him Unfortunately our AD is also clueless and the players and fans will suffer Fire Wicker and LewisIf we do this, it has to be done from the top down. Not from the bottom up because Wicker can't be trusted with hiring another coach. Meanwhile there's urgency to build attendance and justify our ticket prices. Those go hand in hand. JMO

SDSU should have won the game except the kicker blew it. Everyone calm down. We are 4 games into a complete rebuild of the program. Coach Lewis said it’s going to take a season and a half for the offense to fully grasp the system. Just like Coach Long said it takes 2 season’s for the defensive players to grasp his defense. I am not happy about the kicker throwing up on himself either. He should never see the field again but take the long view. We lost 1/2 the roster in the offseason. This is a patch work team. We are going to get better it’s just going to take time. If you don’t relax during the rebuild you’re going to have a heart attack. Too late: LOL

It’s possible for a team with inferior athletes to be well coached. Does anyone think that any of the games this year, win or lose, was well coached? Did we have inferior athletes compared to CMU? Right choice or wrong, Coach Lewis will get at least 2 full years to build his program - we should all do that we can to make him successful. Buy tickets. Go to the games. Contribute to NIL. Wear your Aztec gear. Keep the faith. Pray?
This is a critical time for every nPAC school to perform on the field. Right now, it seems only BSU is playing as expected of a member of our future conference. We need to pull our weight ASAP.
Go Aztecs!

We lost because despite CMU packing the box Clueless Lewis kept pounding the rock. He kept going fast which hurts the defense. He failed to go back to Jude Wolfe who dominated the first half and he threw only when forced to. He also failed to rotate his backs. Which keeps them fresh and who have different styles Lewis is clueless.

LA Aztec did the exact same thing on the old message board...Aztec Talk. Lecturing to all of us that we were in a "5 year rebuild" with both Tom Craft and Chuck Long. Of course, in both cases LA Aztec a couple of years later admitted both coaches were the wrong hires. He will do the same this time around. It will just take him a year or two to figure out what the rest of us already know. Wicker hired the wrong head coach. Yep

If the crappy kicker makes 1 field goal the whole board would be a different place. Coach Lewis is going to get at least 3 years to get it going so if this is the way people are going to react after a loss Aztec Mesa is going to be a miserable place. We probably should have fired Coach Fisher after his first season too. Three years will be to late. We will leave the MW as bottom feeders, start life in the Pac as bottom feeders, and waste the first three years of the new PAC trying to get our $#!+ together. The AD has wasted the goodwill of the Community, the momentum and promise of a new Stadium. We have become CSU with a better basketball program. It's time to find a new AD and Head Ball Coach.

Not saying in any way shape or form that this is a good comparison but you never know what a coach will become when given some time. Four games is not enough time. Last year Colorado started like a house of fire and then completely imploded because both sides of the line were weak. I know some will pile on Lewis for that too.
Just keep in mind that Cleveland thought Belichick couldn’t coach either.

I wish that Lewis would work on his interviewing skills. Too much coach speak. A little more useful information, please.

This is one of those situations in which everyone is correct, to a point. -- we have to give the new staff time to get their program going and revamp the roster with their recruits. The offensive line is extremely weak, and Hoke's recruits in his last few years either didn't pan out or transferred. -- Lewis and his offensive staff have indeed been extremely disappointing in these first four games and have shown us little to make us believe that JD made the correct choice in hiring a football coach, the lone exception being the vast reduction in penalties. Keep in mind, though, that the mighty CMU defense gave up 52 points to Florida International and, last week, 34 at home to Ball State. Reread the comments. This is a Coaching issue. Not a recruiting or talent issue. In this era and at this level, you're going to turn over 50-75% percent of your roster every year. It's going to happen at the end of the season, during Spring Ball, after Spring Ball, before Fall Camp, during Fall Camp, after Fall Camp, during the season, a la rondo. If you're running a complex system that takes half a season to get their feet under them or up to speed, you're 2-4 and your seasons over. If you're telling kids they can't redshirt, you're hurting yourself. You just sacrificed a year of development and practice for a kid who wants to be there next year when he's older and more mature. Now they're gone. The AD made a bad hire. Period. Even good Coaches last ten years, tops in one spot. The same thinking should be appiled to AD's. It's time to bring in new ideas, fresh outlook, and energy to help SDSU FB get better than the last three seasons.

I might be in San Diego at the time of the New Mexico game. I might go!!!!!!! This is the first time in decades that I've lived within 3,000 miles of San Diego. Last Aztec game I attended in person was in 1989. It might be nice to see the Snap. Question. My knees have been a problem for 25 years. Is there any seating that is easily accessible with only a few or no stairs? I know it won't be like the Fog Bowl but you can't have everything.

This is more about the overall look of the team and how it's coached from the shabby uniforms, poor coaching, bad play-calling, stupid mistakes, critical penalties, lack of in game adjustments and the list goes on but it all reflects on the coaching. I am not one of the guys calling for Coach Lewis to be fired but he needs to make some serious adjustments and get to know some of the OTHER PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM. Shabby uniforms? Really?!?!

I was screaming, watch the fake punt! Watch the fake punt!! The ONLY person in America, watching that game, who did NOT know the fake was coming...was Lewis. Then maybe, he wasn't watching, because our team was overmatched by the CMU Juggernaut.

Stay away from the upper deck and low row numbers. Rows 28 to 30 are the top row in most sections. Secitons 11r and 115 go higher than that, but if you stay with those row numbers you'll be at the concourse level.
If you spring for West side club seating that recommendation will change because of where the tunnels come out into the seating areas.
Here's a link to a 3D seating chart that shows you the view from any seat. It's won't give you a clue of what's available however.

With NIL, every team is now in a rebuild year. SDSU had to replace half the roster. That’s crazy. 90% of the Teams at this level are turning over 50-75% of their rosters. If you're good, someone's willing to pay you more. If you have decent NIL you can get kids with less. Kids that were buried on the depth chart will transfer down for PT. If you have a complicated system that takes time for kids to learn, feel comfortable in and start being productive, your seasons over. Chances are they will move on when the seasons over. He's not a good Coach.

If you think about it, Rocky's defense was incredible once he got it going and then was able to recruit better players to run it... That was a 2 step process. I feel like Lewis is combining the 2 steps, and it will probably be next year until we see all the fruit. It makes sense that he's playing "His guys" because they can accelerate the growth/ learning process for the team. I believe that once everyone is solid, we will see more players get more time. Why is Clueless building for next year? Most of these kids will be gone next season. If this Team ever gets it together and plays to their potential, the kids will leave for Schools with NIL. You don't develop kids for next year any more. You Coach them up to what they can be right now.

I don't pretend to know football but I am an Aztec fan and have decided that I will support Coach Lewis (and his staff and team) as long as he is the head coach. Then whenever a new guy is named as head coach I will support him. Like everyone else; I was disappointed by the last second loss but I know that those kind of things happen to all teams - good and bad. I will watch and cheer on my team because they are MY team. I will hope for the best because I love the Aztecs. I respect that every fan has his personal point of view; this is mine - I know that my opinion may not be popular right now but that has never been important to me. As the saying goes - your mileage may vary.
