This is more about the overall look of the team and how it's coached from the shabby uniforms, poor coaching, bad play-calling, stupid mistakes, critical penalties, lack of in game adjustments and the list goes on but it all reflects on the coaching. I am not one of the guys calling for Coach Lewis to be fired but he needs to make some serious adjustments and get to know some of the OTHER PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM. PS- I'm with you on the sloppy uniforms. Like Lewis beard. Man, it's the details. Jerry Rice said I play how I look. He was obsessed with every detail including looking, acting and dressing like his you play out there.

Watched game while driving, and with the outstanding CBSSN coverage, didn't notice unis? Where/are they new and different?

My biggest issue with Lewis is the constant overuse of Cooper, we need to give the guy a breather once in a while and we have some guys behind him that have busted their ass to get where they are with SDSU (and deserve some snaps). Cooper had 34 carries yesterday, with one productive run. As Albert Einstein once said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
I'm not sure if any of you saw Cooper get interviewed after our first game win, but the broadcaster asked if he saw what Ashton Jeanty did with Boise State. Cooper's response was yeah, but "I am the best running back in the MWC." Well after 4 games, Cooper should be embarrassed by that statement. Jeanty leads the country in rushing yards (845), yards per carry (10.3), yards per game (211.2) and TDs (13). Cooper's stats after 4 games: rushing yards (474), yards per carry (4.9), yards per game (118.5) and TDs (3). About half of his season stats also came against Tex. A&M Commerce, who isn't even playing at the FBS level (he had 223 yards, 8.3 per carry and 2 TDs).

Watched game while driving, and with the outstanding CBSSN coverage, didn't notice unis? Where/are they new and different? Same uniforms. Too much mayan calendar stuff on it! With all the modern technology for uniform they can do holograms or in prints of the aztec calendar on the jersey. Instead they print it on the sleeve, pants, and helmet. Id like to at least have the school primary SD logo on the sleeve of the jersey. A refresh of the ugly Aztec font needs to be addressed. With our move to the a new conference, new alternate jersey and helmet are in order.

While you make some good points on our uniforms… I'm not sure if I agree or not, I think our uniforms are mostly pretty good. The numbers are weird, I agree with that. Plus "Mayan" calendar? Pretty sure that's the Aztec calendar. Maybe I missed the sarcasm/smart alec tone? But what AztecFred was asking about was the comment about "sloppy" uniforms. a lot of guys had their T-shirts underneath their jersey and pads hanging out down below their waist covering and past their hips, same undershirt sleeves hanging out. Just a really sloppy, unnecessary look. Either tuck them in our wear cut off ones. Improving and being really good in football involves hundreds of small details in addition to main critical core principles. When I go watch, say HS football, the better teams look neat, wear the same socks, line up orderly for the national anthem, huddle up tightly ... on and on. I'm a believer in these are signs of how buttoned up programs are. Or aren't.

Uniforms looked as sloppy as they played yesterday, tattered t-shirts hangout random sleeves hanging out, ill fitting jerseys, biker shorts for pants, mouth pieces fly around, random tails of all sizes hanging out........ They just looked sloppy and unkept for having such clean nice looking uniforms. ---Look good, play Good! NOT Look Sloppy, play Sloppy!

This is one of those situations in which everyone is correct, to a point.
-- we have to give the new staff time to get their program going and revamp the roster with their recruits. The offensive line is extremely weak, and Hoke's recruits in his last few years either didn't pan out or transferred.
-- Lewis and his offensive staff have indeed been extremely disappointing in these first four games and have shown us little to make us believe that JD made the correct choice in hiring a football coach, the lone exception being the vast reduction in penalties. Keep in mind, though, that the mighty CMU defense gave up 52 points to Florida International and, last week, 34 at home to Ball State.

I think people forget actually how much talent transferred out last season, not to mention multiple OL starting for SEC and B10 schools.
Trenches are not deep, little push from our OL on runs and outside of Trey White no great pass rush getting the opposing teams QBs.

In my view it was way more then just a couple missed kicks. - Missed kick - Only using Cooper to run the ball - Limited passes to people not named Dropsy Brown III - Prevent Offense entire second half - Playing for a field goal with over 2 minutes to play on the (CMU)11 yard line, 3 time outs left and 2 min. warning, 3 rushes gained 4 yards, took off 45 seconds off clock - BAD play calling - Bad in-game adjustments (second half sucked) - Really bad time for a slow evolving Trick Play on Aztec offense. - Pretty obvious Trick Play being called on fake punt from CMU - What happened to the TE's in the second half - Shut out in Second half - Out coached and out played in second half - - - - - You forgot: * Facemask penalty that negated a fumble recovery returned to 1-yard line * Failure of linebacker to knock CMU QB into next Tuesday on interception return. He gave the QB a polite shove. QB came back to make tackle at the 11-yard-line. Coulda/shoulda been a TD.

With NIL, every team is now in a rebuild year.

With NIL, every team is now in a rebuild year. SDSU had to replace half the roster. That’s crazy.

It's not about talent against that team, that was not a talented team that we lost to. It's about horrible coaching decisions.

SDSU should have won the game except the kicker blew it. Everyone calm down. We are 4 games into a complete rebuild of the program. Coach Lewis said it’s going to take a season and a half for the offense to fully grasp the system. Just like Coach Long said it takes 2 season’s for the defensive players to grasp his defense. I am not happy about the kicker throwing up on himself either. He should never see the field again but take the long view. We lost 1/2 the roster in the offseason. This is a patch work team. We are going to get better it’s just going to take time. If you don’t relax during the rebuild you’re going to have a heart attack. If you think about it, Rocky's defense was incredible once he got it going and then was able to recruit better players to run it... That was a 2 step process. I feel like Lewis is combining the 2 steps, and it will probably be next year until we see all the fruit. It makes sense that he's playing "His guys" because they can accelerate the growth/ learning process for the team. I believe that once everyone is solid, we will see more players get more time.
