So painful to listen to post game interview. Lewis is just a coach speak clinic. Said that he was just going for FG. So stupid. 4 games in, I'm over him. I saw everything I needed to see today. He made 30 bad decisions in the 2H alone. Football purgatory. I've been over him since the last game. His in-game decisions demonstrate he's in way in over his head. He handed CMU the game like a hot potato after the Defense gave it to him three times in the 4th

Lewis is not only in over his head, he's got ZERO balls! From giving up against Oregon State in the last 5 minutes to the pathetic last 5 minutes play-calling this week, he reeks of fear and ambivalence, two terrible traits to show your team.
Remember how sacred the 5:00 minute mark was during Coach Fisher's reign? Lewis is going to give us a whole new 5:00 minute mark memory.
Bet Sutton and Cam Davis are glad they're here this year. Sutton has been in 2 games and had 4 carries (for 18 yards btw) Davis has gotten into just one game with 1 rush for 4 yards. Armstead almost feels overworked at 3 games with 13 rushes. That's not how a head coach generates "team" chemistry.
But the thing I'm most sick of already is the barrage of platitudes and cliche's he vomits up after the last three losses. He gives a very generic claim to "be better" but never addresses the laundry list of specific questionable calls and decisions he makes. He's GOT NO BALLS!!!!!!

FYI, the only team that we have beaten so far, 45-14 win against Texas A&M Commerce, has started the season 0-4. Sacramento State, who thinks they should be considered for PAC-12 expansion, just shut them out 34-0. UC Davis beat them 36-22.

Wicker doesn’t have the balls or juice to fire him. Yet. It’s too soon, as much as I’m convinced Lewis isn’t the guy. I was already seriously doubting him, the 2nd half today convinced me he ain’t it. Again. If Wicker fired him, would you trust him to hire a better coach? Heck no. Even if Wicker is still AD the next time a coach is fired, Wicker shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the decision making for a new coach. Assemble a panel if really smart football guys, former players, current players and let them choose. How many clueless coaching hire mistakes can he be allowed to make?? Oh yeah, he has an equally weak ass boss. While I have little faith that Lewis is the right guy here, no coach should be fired 4 games into their tenure. Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to rationalize firing him after one season unless the team completely quit on him. Never suggested he should be fired. Not even an option. Not sure where you're getting I did.

One positive thing is Trey White Three freaking sacks to bring his season total to six. He's a beast on the pass rush this year Jude Wolfe is also starting to look like a great option at TE...

So can be TE Mikey Harrison. But let's keep inv throwing it to Oopsie Dropsie Brown. He clearly hasn't worked hard enough on his craft/hands.

The Lewis era is very different from the Chuck Long era. Chuck always seemed in over his head, and clueless on how to run a team. And he was a terrible leader. Sean Lewis has been making some baffling mistakes (in game decisions, primarily), but he doesn't seem in over his head, and he does seem to know how to run a team. He just needs to learn from his mistakes. (And there have been plenty of them to learn from.) Remember, we lost most of last year's starters. This is largely a new team with little experience. Everyone involved has a huge learning curve. If we see the same kind of mistakes late in the season that would be a sign of trouble (and the potential need to replace Lewis after the 2025 season if he doesn't get it together). Lewis seems a lot smarter than Chuck Long was, so I think he's capable of learning from his mistakes, and becoming a better coach. We'll see. He is in over his head. His in-game decisions demonstrate it. You forget what the Chuck Long era was like. Chuck Long was like a deer in the headlights. He was in over his head with everything. Lewis isn't in over his head. He's merely making mistakes. There is a difference. Chuck Long wasn't a strong leader. Lewis is. Lewis is making a bunch of rookie mistakes that he shouldn't be making, but he could still learn from them and become a really strong coach, overall.

Chippewas listened to an experienced head coach at halftime. And they made the necessary adjustments to shut down what was becoming a runaway game. Aztecs either didn't listen at halftime, or they don't have an head coach with enough experience to analyze the game situation and come up with adjustments, or most likely, both. You can almost hear Lewis congratulating everyone (AZTEC TOO FAST) on dominating the first half - and providing nothing further about the adjustments CMU hit them with in the 2nd half.
